Unlike the pro kit, this kit requires a higher purchase price. If you buy your pro kit from SRAM, then look out for the seller called SRAM0. A fake product will be sold, and one that will cost you a lot more than the original price. I was unable to obtain a refund because this seller can't be contacted. The guy already posted a real shot of it and I didn't know it.
the fake one could do the job but the syringe and everything else is plastic
the original pro kit comes with glass syringes and metallic connectors, which is much better with a lower price!.
Here is the kit you need if you want to perform a bleed. As described, brake blocks are super helpful, and with some practice you should be able to get a really good bleed in no more than 30 minutes.
*Case in point, though, is that the plastic syringes don't last nearly as long as some shop syringes of better quality. The vacuum and pressure required to apply a vacuum to the brake lines are still hindered by resistance when some dot fluid is applied along the plunger seals to assist with lubrication up and down the syringe. I have seen this issue worsen every time I do an additional bleed (yes, I clean the plungers/syringes after every use) but I'm on my '7th' bleed now, so maybe I should have gotten the glass ones. It would be fine if you were bleeding once a season, but I often do maintenance on friends' bikes, so it didn't take long for me to get frustrated when the syringes were not of good quality.
A bit more than you need, but everything you need. It worked great on my Guide R brakes, the 'bleeding edge' tool was very easy to use, and ensures an airtight system so that no bubbles will enter the system when you are disconnecting My one regret is not purchasing a kit by a name that I recognized. You will want to be aware of this because depending on your level of pad wear, the bleed blocks might push your pistons back too far into the caliper. There was quite a bit of travel in my lever before biting even with new pads, so I used the old pads as a thinner bleed block to push the pistons out (and to clean them a little) to make the zero point The lever will still have squish if they are not all evenly spaced. A lot of people also get dragged if they go too far. They are now on the mark, even after I fiddled with them a little.
This removed the spongy feel that was caused by some air in my old brake fluid as well as a discoloration. I imagined it would be more complicated than it was. not happy with my brakes but can hold off on upgrading for the time being. It seems a bit high to spend $60 for plastic tubing, cheap syringes, bleeding blocks, fluid, and some tips, but it is all in one box ready to go so I thought it was worthwhile.
are a lot of pieces in this kit that have no obvious purpose. SRAM brakes from older models probably work with this algorithm. It doesn't seem like the tubing clamps are working. The only time I could lock one was when I had very strong hands. In conclusion, on my first attempt, I successfully installed and bled my first set of brakes after some trial and error. My bleed time was down to about 10 minutes a few days later, and I installed another set. The U tube videos provided for guidance are excellent.
When pulling liquids from or pushing them out, the syringes are made of plastic and are not very smooth. It has sometimes happened when blowing air out of tubes that the syringe won't budge, then all of the sudden DOT fluid flies all over the place. Moreover, the clamps attached to the hoses are poorly done. It may take a couple of days to feel it in your fingers or thumb. By the time I clamped the tubes closed, I had to wrap the tubes in a towel and use both hands. In many ways it is not too bad once you get used to it, however you need to be careful because once you have formed the crease you cannot change Getting smooth transitions with the syringes and clamping the tubes is a hassle, but it gets the job done.
There was a comment that said this kit does not include glass syringes, which is just untrue. I wouldn't call the price of this kit excessive and the quality is about the same as The kit worked great and included all the tools as well as some extras for different setups. The oil provided was enough to flush the front and rear brakes fully.
Not only does this kit contain everything you need to bleed SRAM brakes (in my case, Guide RS), however it also contains instructions on how to rebuild the calipers (which is This is just a bonus, however, since the brake bleeding kit is simply described as such.
