There isn't just one person.
I'm not sure, but these were fantastic and were well constructed, making them simple to adjust and install. Unless, of course, the black ones are lighter. On a mountain bike, I believe it is a waste of money; one fewer energy bar would make up for the difference.
Yes, most bikes with disc brakes on the frame should be able to use it.

The Avid BB7s are constructed in the same way that many disc brakes for bicycles are: The tongue eyehole (the part of the disc pad that sticks out) is located inside a recessed well that is inaccessible to your fingers, tools, and difficult to see. If you Google "changing brake pads Avid BB7," you'll find complaints on bicycle message boards about how difficult it is to replace the pads. This Avid BB7 is designed specifically for you if you enjoy wasting time with frustrating bicycle parts. I sent it back and replaced it with TRP Spyke Mechanical brake calipers. Try it for yourself to see the difference: TRP calipers with easily accessible pad tongue eyeholes and pins can be found by searching for TRP Spyke or Spyre mechanical brake and clicking IMAGES on the Google search result page. Unlike the Avid BB7 and Shimanos, this one has a much more sensible design. which I had been using previously.
Just make sure you have everything set up properly. They're almost as good as XT and other hydraulics I've tried. Hydraulic brakes are notorious for their hydraulic fluid issues. br>Affordable, easy to install and maintain, from a reputable manufacturer, and they perform admirably!.
As an upgrade for my 2003 Catrike Speed, I went with the Avid BB7 brakes. This brake was the obvious choice after using it on other trikes, and it is of excellent quality. BEWARE--EASY TO INSTALL AND SET UP. The brake DOES NOT include the rotor bracket, as shown in the ad.
I was concerned that this would only be a minor upgrade to my mountain bike brakes. It's a significant change, owing to how much easier it is to align. One issue I had was with a bent pad tongue - which was causing the rotor bolts to come loose - With needle nose pliers, it's simple to straighten it out. It's unclear how it became bent, but it was clearly not intended to be that way. br>br>Unit arrived in good condition and was fully assembled (bolts and pads included). I was expecting a rotor and brackets, but there were none.
I replaced the front disc brakes on my Trek 3500 with the full brake kit about a year ago with no issues and a great product. For this order, I just ordered the back caliper and needed to reuse part of the Zoom brake OEM mounting bracket because a new one for the frame was not included in my order and the two extra brackets would not adapt. Long story short, everything went together well but the 'pull tab' on the outside of the caliper stuck out so far that it would not allow the The pull tab was cut off (with a dremel cutoff wheel, but I'm sure there are other options) without affecting the pad, and the rest of the installation went smoothly. I'm very pleased with this product, which also comes at a great price; all it took was a little patience to put together. The downhill test ride went off without a hitch.
The Tektro MD280s that came installed on my EBike are a huge upgrade; the Tektro is fine on the front wheel, but the hub motor makes it nearly impossible to adjust the inner pad on the back wheel. br>br>Easy to set up (after watching a few YouTube videos) and lines up a lot better than the Tektros. The ability to adjust the outer pad is also a huge plus; it's much easier and more consistent than adjusting the cable for the outer pad.
I've now purchased my fourth bb7 caliper. Great value for money and dependable. After almost six years of year-round riding in Chicago (rain, snow, freezing temperatures, sand, and salt), the non-moving piston couldn't be adjusted any longer, so I replaced it with a bb7.
My bike came equipped with BB5 brakes, which I should have replaced years ago. What a stark contrast! Getting aligned has never been safer or easier. It makes a huge difference to have a larger pad.
