My grandson, who is 5 years old, wanted to use this set while he roller skated. In the end, everything worked out well for him. In addition, the look of these are very nice. There is no bulky hat and no flimsy pad! There is a dial on the back of the helmet that adjusts depending on your head size.

A child under all likelihood would not be a good fit for this game, I would say 7 or 8 years old is about the right age. Material quality seems to be fine, but it could be better.
