For ease of movement, there's a full-length two-way zipper.
On a size M, the back length is 75 inches.

Questions & Answers

Is it necessary to completely unzip this in order to remove it?

It does, in fact, unzip entirely.

Is it true that this skirt weighs 15 pounds? 5oz? It appears to be quite heavy for a "packable" skirt, and I wouldn't take it backpacking with me. ?

I have 2. It's small and convenient to transport. I'd buy it in every color, but the zippers are always falling down. I wear an xs and it's a little big on me, but the top zipper is always down. I went up to a small, which was way too big, so I went back to the xs and added a snap to keep the zipper in place. The only drawback is that it prevents me from buying more.br>Keeps you warm with tights.

I'm curious about the length of the skirt. ?

It comes to a point on the upper thigh. I style mine with tights and boots, and I adore this skirt!

Has anyone figured out how to keep the top zipper from unzipping? I'm considering purchasing one, but the zipper appears to be a persistent issue. ?

I'll add a hook and eye to the top of the skirt to prevent the zipper from unzipping. I'm crossing all of my fingers.

It's great for skate and classic skiing
5/5

This skirt was purchased to be worn while cross-country skiing. Because my hips get so cold, I like to go cross-country skiing. I'm extremely pleased with the results. It's comfortable for both skate and classic skiing, and I haven't had to adjust the bottom zipper for either. br>br>The zipper is locked at the top and bottom, and while it has slipped at the waist a few times (when I've been sitting), it usually stays in place. If I'm wearing thicker layers underneath it, I like that I can unzip it an inch or two at the top and it won't unzip any further. br>br>I like that I can unzip it completely to take it off or put it on while out on the trail, making it simple to do if I change my mind. I waited a long time to order one because of the cost, but I believe it will be well worth it. It's easy to store in my backpack and then a cinch to put on at a snow shelter for some extra warmth and padding before sitting down to rest. I've been skiing in my Smartwool mid-layer for the past ten years. It's a light-weight base layer that's still in great shape. Smartwool socks are also a must for me when skiing. When I wear anything else, my toes become sweaty and wet. So I'm confident that the quality and functionality of my skirt will not be compromised. br>br>I'm 5'6" and wear size 14 pants most of the time. I have very curvy hips, so the large fits snugly and has enough shaping to fit me. I wouldn't be able to go any smaller, and the XL would probably start to gape too much around the waist.

It is in need of improvement
3/5

I adore the skirt, but the zipper will not stay up, which is extremely inconvenient. One day, I was walking through a store when my skirt fell to the ground. This is extremely humiliating.

Zipper that isn't working
3/5

When worn, the zipper descends quickly. Two were purchased, with each purchase taking two weeks. One large white object. One of the backs is quite substantial. Both zippers had crept down, making checking them an all-day affair. I sent a few emails to this company a few days ago, maybe three or four. In the online world, however, you don't have to sacrifice customer service or vendor response time for a customer's trust. Smart Wool is learning NEW MANUFACTURING problems at the expense of consumers and companies like Amazon, and other competitor companies have similar skirts.

It's comfortable and useful
4/5

Would be nice if the waist could be adjusted. This skirt was purchased to keep my hips and backside warm during camping trips, and while it isn't particularly fashionable, it does the job. In my sleeping bag, it keeps me warm and toasty. The waist is very loose and there is no way to adjust it because I had to size up to fit my hips with layers on. It would be nice if there was some elastic or a drawstring in the back to help cinch it down a bit. The zipper also has a habit of slipping down, causing the skirt to ride a little too low.

LOVE it! I'm 5'4 and 140 pounds, so I was a little worried about how it would fit
5/5

I was unsure whether medium would suffice. I tried on the Mountain Hardware trekking skirt, but it didn't fit me properly. This skirt is just right; it's a little short, but that's okay because I'll be wearing it with leggings. Yay!.

The zipper is also reversible, which is a fantastic bonus! That was not the case with my first one
5/5

These skirts are absolutely stunning! This is the third time I've placed an order! They look great with leggings. I'm 55, so I'm not one to flaunt my genitalia. lol!.

Every runner's dream in the winter! It was well worth the money! I layer this over fleece leggings for extra warmth while running in the winter, and it works perfectly
5/5

Consider purchasing it in a variety of colors.

The skirt is fantastic, but the zipper is less so
4/5

I like the skirt because I can wear it after skiing instead of wearing bulky ski pants. Regrettably, the zipper has a penchant for unzipping itself. I have to keep pulling the zipper up all the time. They need to find a solution to this problem because the skirt is quite expensive. Overall, I like the skirt, but I'll have to figure out how to fix the zipper.
