In the summer, I'd expect you to be pretty warm. When the weather gets cooler, you can wear one of these to keep warm without having to wear
If you want it to fit, then it depends on how you want it to look. This was given to my husband who is thin in the shoulders but has a large stomach, so I purchased an XL for him. A 5' 11"" and 185 pound man, he has a lot going for him. This appears to be a true to size item.
It depends on how snug you want them to be or how loose they want them to be. My height is 5'10", I weigh 175 pounds and I got the large. I don't like them flapping in the wind since they are too baggy for me plus I rarely put another layer under my clothing (if I do anyway) since I pedal a little faster on my road bike so I'm There seemed to be a decent amount of room in the large so you may be able to fit If it primarily is used for casual riding and has extra layers underneath, perhaps the xl will be sufficient.
The material is very supple and there is no noise. On the other hand, I only use it for bicycling.

I select Gore Wear as one of the three cycling brands I'll stick with moving forward. It isn't an insulated vest, but it does what it is meant to accomplish - it keeps you warm --. By stopping the wind, the wind is stopped. When the need arises, I wear it outside my Gore long sleeve jerseys and outside my Gore insulated jacket. It is convenient to have the front pocket It would be nice if my jerseys were like that.
The quality is excellent, the material feels great, and the color is great. Size was an issue for me. I'm a female that wears a size medium, and I purchased this in a small due to the fact that it is a men's item. The zipper was too tight around my hip bones. I just wanted to let you know in case other females have considered Consider ordering your actual size. (I didn't exchange for a medium so I am.
Power walking can be done with the vest. Besides keeping the wind from blowing, it provides some warmth as well. My favorite part about it is its great look.
I would recommend this vest. I have worn it down to 32 degrees since I wear it with a thermal shirt.
suggesting that I size up because these are snug, however, I wear a size large and this was much bigger than I expected. It looks ridiculous and feels like I am.
It was a gift for my boyfriend, who wanted to use it for golf, but the arm holes were a little tight It is estimated that he is 157 pounds and 5 feet 9 inches tall. His favorite part of the jacket was the pocket in bottom for his glasses, but he thought that it was too tight. Although I intend to keep it for cycling, I may use a thinner.
I bought it for him. We love how it adds just the right amount of warmth and wind protection any time we're Wearing it while hiking has also become part of his daily routine.
Despite its high quality and true to size fit, this vest still feels a bit flimsy. There are lined pockets on both sides of the backpack so you can put things in and take them Running, biking and layering with this have been my favorite things to wear.
