Can I wear these knee pads all the way through, or are they a sleeve up top and the strap is only there to tighten, I have thick thighs. ?

The Knee pads straps open all the way, so that's an indication that they are adjustable.

The fit seems wonky

As you can see above, I was very excited to receive these knee pads since the fronts are open and would presumably offer a more comfortable riding experience. It was clear as soon as I put on the pads that the fit would not I am 6' tall and 180 pounds, so the sides are loose and flappy, which makes the fit very awkward and protective results questionable.

For reference, I am 180 pounds and 6' tall. As I expected the dress to be loose, I ordered the small, so I could not return the item.
