Questions & Answers
No, but I believe they offer a service where they will send someone to assemble your items for you. It's not difficult to put together.
Any bicycle store will suffice.
Both the front and back pegs are included in this model.
It doesn't come with any tools, but an adjustable wrench, Phillips head screw driver, and allen wrench set (4, 5, 6, and 8mm) are all you'll need. Thanks!

My 11-year-old son worked extremely hard for several months to save money in order to purchase this bike, only to be let down twice and suffer from severe concrete burns to his knees, elbows, and hands. We're on our second bike of this model because the first one's break line was too short to complete assembly, so Amazon picked it up and sent us a replacement. When we received the second one, we were able to finish assembly, but when my son tried to ride it for the first time, he had a pretty bad crash due to the faulty breakline. When he tried to pull the break handle, the breakline ripped through the handle, causing the brakes to fail and he crashed because he was unable to stop the bike. I took the bike to the same bike shop where I had taken the first one, and they said the bike was correctly assembled and that they could see where the breakline had ripped through the break handle, which should not have happened in the first place. They also stated that because this was my second bike with the same problem, there must be a problem with the breaklines for this bike model at the manufacturer. So, if you buy this bike, make sure to check and double-check the safety features before allowing anyone to ride it.
Because the instruction pamphlet shows a completely different style of brakes/handlebar configuration, my son and I had a VERY difficult time putting the handlebars on. We had to guess. Also, the handlebars may be missing a piece or insert. We followed the instructions and put everything together correctly. My son was riding his bike when the handlebars came down, stopping the wheel and throwing him off. I'm not sure what to do now. If at all possible, I'll have to take it to a bike shop to have it fixed. This bike is not something I would recommend; I feel like I squandered my money on it.
Last Christmas, we purchased this bike for our 12-year-old son. The assembly was simple, but tightening the nuts that held the pegs in place required a deep well socket and extension. Also, the size of the front and back nuts differs. To tighten the peg, you'll need a 5/8" and 3/4" deep well socket with an extension. br>br>At first, the bike was fantastic, albeit a little cumbersome. In the first three weeks, we had two flat tires, which I blame on my son riding over some thorns. The chain snapped last week, and I'm hoping to find a replacement as soon as possible. My son was dissatisfied with the situation. The bike appears to be in good condition overall, but we've had problems with the tires, brakes, and now a broken chain. I'm hoping that the manufacturer will notice and assist me in finding a new chain.
The brake cable is too short on the second bike in a row, so I'm sending it back and won't be getting another. The first impression was bad enough; the second time around, I'm done wasting my time because the brake cable was still too short, even with the washer removed.
Unfortunately, the front brake cable was too short when we tried to connect it; we would like to keep the bike, but believe the seller should now pay for us to have it re-wired. do this. After spending $237 on this bike, I'm disappointed. br>Moreover, my son will have to wait even longer to ride it. br>I'm updating this review to say that since I wrote it, I've taken the bike to my local bike shop, where the service guy replaced the brake cable in 30 seconds. So he accomplished something that neither my husband nor I could. I left it there for a safety check because I'm clearly not a bike expert, and I paid $50 for a full service (he would have done the first part for free, but I wanted it all checked).
Expected arrival time is three days. 6 days. br>br>The bike arrived in good condition. However, it was accompanied by inner-workings. tubes with holes in them The tubes both burst open. My son's rear tube came out and wrapped around the wheel while he was riding. Fortunately, he was not injured; no problem; simply call Mongoose customer service and wait on hold for 30 minutes until their automated system tells you that the operators are busy and that you should call again later, then hangs up. Call back later, wait another 10 minutes, and the automated system disconnects you. I'm hoping to hear from you as soon as possible. If I ever receive assistance from them, I'll post an update.
The handlebars don't stay tight on this bike, which is a shame. They had to be adjusted nearly every day for the next month. My husband and I have both tightened them, so it's not a user error. They slip down while my son is riding and doing jumps, which is a bit of a safety hazard. I would if returning a bike wasn't so inconvenient. I was hoping for more for $250. This was never an issue with his previous BMX bike, which he purchased from a local bike shop. Buying a bike online has taught me some valuable lessons.
For kids or small adults, it's a good, solid beginner BMX bike. If you have a little extra cash, I'd recommend getting something from a more reputable brand or moving up in the legion series to get a full chromoly frame and better components. My kink gap xl is noticeably heavier. This is a great bike for a kid who is just getting into BMX and isn't sure if she'll be going crazy in skateparks and on the street. We'll upgrade the pedals as soon as possible because the ones that came on it don't offer much grip.
