In addition to rollers and trainers, I own a treadmill. Around 6000 miles were covered by me in the past 12 months. Most of those miles were logged on rollers last year, while there were no miles logged on the trainer. While I find the trainer boring, I am doing much better on the rollers, which require greater concentration to ride. Getting on my rollers also makes me feel like I am riding my bike. The rollers have been a game changer for me. Prior to this I used a trainer and rode every day in the winter.
There are no pedals involved, these are just rollers they allow you to ride in place and indoors. The returns were made with some difficulty, I might add.

As a small bit of information just for those that were curious, I threw out some numbers. They work fairly well for someone like me who weighs 190 pounds on a road bike. This motor can probably handle up to about 350 watts before the gears fall out (depending on the I use my power meter to calculate how much power I need to run 25mph. I bought my first set of rollers after never having been on a set before. Also, I've been considering a parabolic one, I didn't know what to expect from that.
