Questions & Answers

Is there a way that it will work without taking the drive chain and gears off?

I'm looking forward to it! Attach the cassette to the bike while using this product, and you will see how quickly it clears the grease from the cassette and chain. My favorite feature is its ease of use. In any case, your grease has to go somewhere on its way out, and if you are not careful with your aim, it will end up on your spokes and rim. This may result in a little more work for you in the long run, but the final result would be spectacular. However, the pressure can drop very quickly, so you need to be aware of your pace.

Is this a lubricant for chains? If I use this, I apply lube a second time. ?

Yes, this cleans the chain very well, but it does not lubricate it (such a product does not exist). Once the chain has been cleaned, you will need to apply lube.

How biodegradable are the chemicals used in this formula?

The company does put out an EcoTech Degreaser, though I doubt it is that powerful -- These products are 100% biodegradable, according to the company.

The reviews indicate that there may be a risk of damage to the paint. How likely is it that the product will ?

It is not something I have experienced, & This product was made for bicycles, so it would have no use for that. My guess is that it's meant for gears &amp gearheads Almost exclusively for going through cartridges, I won't be using it for cleaning frames. It might be a good idea to test the paint first in an inconspicuous place. I can't imagine that there would be an issue with any modern paint vintage paint may be a different It really is an amazing cleaner, as it doesn't need scrubbing at all to get dirt and grease off.

The schmeezy way to do it
4/5

It was simple, easy to ride with just a little assistance. There was minimal fuss, since I had a city road bicycle, not a mountain biking ruckus. There could be a difference in how grimy and greasy your crap is. My skin is greasy because I live in the city. You can spray it over any dull, unimportant floor area. Mine is the parking lot where I park before I ride my bike. Inverted the bicycle. I was trying to keep any spray and drips from my white frame, so I covered the asphalt side of the frame with towels. We have completed our mission. that 90% of the grease vaporized or dripped off without any problems, without leaving a lot of mess behind. Although I realized that I might have to go through a whole can to cover every nook and cranny completely, I was determined to do it I like it, but I don't love it that much. The moment I thought everything was in order, I stopped. When I did my research here on good ole Amazon, I came across an item I had never heard of before. A Finish Line product called 'Finish Line Gear Floss Microfiber Cleaning' is used for this. The thickest strands of 20" long absorbent floss to fit into that 10% +/- hole You will find lots of nooks and crannies difficult to reach. You can use it as dental floss for your cassette (wow), crank hubs, transfer mechanism, wheel axel and hubs, and There is no guarantee that your creativity will be the same. The floss itself is not the subject of this review, so I will just say that they are an amazing treatment when combined.

Fastest cleaner degreaser I have ever used from Finish Line
5/5

The Finish Line Speed Degreaser makes cleaning so much easier. From 1999 to 15 dollars. A 99 depending on the It is quite impressive that you can see the residue come out of chains that you thought you had already cleaned (as it must have come After cleaning the chain with Park Tool Chain Brite, I use other chemicals to ensure that there is no dirt left on the chain. Two chain cleanings can be achieved with a can of cleaning solution. A lot of things bother me and I can't stand them My retention is poor. I know how much I use. It used to be that ZEP made an aerosol quick degreaser with 60 or 90 percent heptane that was $8. With the new formulation, a very high percentage of heptane is no longer present, so there is no option to replace it. you should go for the Finish Line! I need to try the DuPont Chain Cleaner (for chainsaws). While it smells like citrus, it is made by Finish Line like most other DuPont branded lubricants and chemicals, especially those with PTFE/Teflon, since DuPont was the first company to create PTFE patents and manufacturing. We are done with our history lesson.

If you want to clean your paint, use a high pressure, low volume cleaner
4/5

To clean my mountain bike chain, chain ring, and derailleur, I used this product. I didn't expect it to blow out as hard as it did. As it brushed debris away, it knocked it to the ground. It didn't seem to go very far, which was a downside. It took me more than half a bottle to clean the apparatus, and I did not feel there was enough to clean the chain. As a side note, it appears to have discolored the paint job where overspray touched It became cloudy grey as the black paint dried. My outlook is not optimistic, as I am not sure whether this effect will fade.

I am disappointed
3/5

All the hype from other reviews saying this stuff was like magic may have contributed to the hype. You can spray it on, and as soon as the solution drips off your chain and the rest of it evaporates, the chain will look sparkling I was not able to accomplish that. Although it was better than whatever generic cheap degreaser I used before, I felt it was not great. My assessment of the new WD-based system is more positive Degreaser that is suitable for 40 bikes.

Other metals can be worked with it My experience with the product is that it works well on recreational bikes
5/5

As well as metal surfaces with greasy oil, I've used it on greasy oily My collection of knives includes carbon steel blades stored and shipped in some kind of oil that is extremely tenacious. Several chemicals found in commercial degreasers, including Krud Kutter, Simple Green Degreaser, and FrogLube Super Degreaser, have been used to clean these blades. It doesn't work with any of them. After I was desperate, I turned to this Finish Line product and it worked like magic for me. I sprayed it on the blades, waited about 30 seconds, and the oil was Since then, I have only used it. regularly get a few drops of overspray on knife handles and it has not damaged any of my handles, including those made of bone, horn, wood, antler, or synthetics.

This stuff is expensive, but it works
5/5

Let this soak in for a minute, then use a pressure washer to clear out grease and grime. Cleans your whole drivetrain with zero effort. Normally, you need most of a bottle to clean a dirty car, maybe bottle and a half if it's disgusting. You must pay for it every month if you use it frequently. Those who do not like nasty chemicals should stay away from it. Definitely cover my tires up better next time, as it bleached the side of my tires.

It is easy to use and is fast
5/5

My gears had been a while since I had cleaned them and they were evenly black, so I thought that was how they looked. After spraying years of junk off the gears, years of grime fell off except for the derailleur which had black gears. Luckily, I had put down an old towel to catch anything that dripped off with the spray. This clean took more than half of my can, but I feel I can clean up my car 3 or 4 times with every 500 miles if I use it every few thousand The price tag is higher than - The procedure is about as efficient as using grease and a brush, but 10 times faster. Five minutes was the time it took me to ride my bike. The time it took my wife to wash her bike was less than 2 minutes, but she rides more than 100 miles per week and cycles less often as well.

However, it is not a perfect cleaner
3/5

My experience with this product is that it works well to remove grease and dirt. However, I would not recommend it for full-time use due to its risk of corroding the metal-to-metal contact. This is not a convenient product for those who ride a lot, because keeping it on hand and using it more frequently can become pretty expensive.
