My understanding of what "true to fit" means is unclear. As far as size goes, I suppose you need to pick a size that truly fits. Some people like extremely snug gloves, while others don't. These gloves are very well constructed, as I can testify to.

This is why I wanted the tactic type of jacket, one that I could use all year round in hot Southern California weather, venting and dexterous, etc. The brand of gloves I am familiar with because I had purchased Mechanix gloves in the past for other reasons. It was snug and comfortable. The tip of the finger is not extra material. I have found that the overall function has been satisfactory, but the palms are finding that they are wearing out and little lint balls are appearing. It was disappointing to find that one of the velcro strips on the gloves was partially unstitched. The biggest problem I have with them is that they stink. Besides racing in real life, I also do sim racing with the gloves I bought. I have used my real racing gloves for sim racing, but never had this issue with them. These gloves have ended up smelling like my ice hockey gloves. I'm not sure if it's their material or what, but they smell like my ice hockey gloves. It's been a while since I've washed them and they smell pretty quickly after that. I air them out every night but that doesn't seem to work either. When I work on cars during race weekends, I even wear stink-free work gloves while doing yard work or yard work. I like that they're thin and light, so typing isn't too difficult in them, and there's a trackpad on them for convenience. I have no issues with them, but the smell problem is my main issue.
