Questions & Answers
"Not a lot," is the simple answer. " Because the shirt is 60% cotton, it shrinks alittle the first time you wash it. My t-shirt does not appeal to me. Shirts are too tight for me, so even though I could wear a large before washing, I always order an x-large. They're big in these, so they'll stay comfortable even after they've been washed. I'd size up to a size 202x if they were made of 100% cotton. Is this of any assistance to you?
Selected User Reviews For Rothco T-Shirt/Tiger Stripe
The darker tiger stripe pattern is very appealing to me. The green is a deeper shade of olive green than the brighter green of the Vietnam-style pattern. The dark pattern looks great against the juniper/pinon pine trees of the American west. br>br>I went up a size after another person recommended it. I get a loose 2X fit by ordering a 3X, which is perfect for me. I also purchased the long sleeve version of this pattern, which I also went up a size in and am pleased with. The two shirts appear to have faded a little faster than other Rothcos I've owned in the past, which isn't a big deal because I don't want to look too crisp and distinct when I'm out and about.
When I put on the shirt, I felt like one of those guys who works out and likes to dress in super-tight clothing. That irritates me to no end. I've been in the Army for 12 years and prefer to dress in these types of clothes that aren't too tight, so I'll have to size up. In addition, the shirt does not stretch at all. My large shirts, on the other hand, will be worn only at home, with the possibility of allowing my female friends to do so as well. I'll definitely purchase more of these shirts, but I'll play around with the sizes. I'll put this on the other shirts I purchased from the same shop. UPDATE. I ordered an XL and it fit perfectly, albeit a little snug at the top of the chest.
Although the tiger stripe pattern is attractive, the shirt's sizing is completely incorrect. I bought a "large" because my chest is 42 inches and my waist is 33 inches. When I first put it on after receiving it, it fit oddly. Even though my arms are over 16" (bicep), the chest was very tight and the arms were huge. It didn't fit right! Threads were sticking out and a small section of a seam was missing the sewing, so the material was very thin and I didn't like the quality. It could have been fixed if I had liked it, but in reality, this was a very low-quality item.
It was like being in a suffocating burlap bag. My usual size was large, and when I tried it on, it felt like a compression shirt, and I looked like I was going to the Jersey Shore audition. The only thing about the shirt that I liked was the tiger stripe camo, which is hard to come by in t-shirts. My hat is off to Rothco for making those shirts.
I usually wear a medium in almost all of my shirts, but I should have ordered a large or extra large because this shirt has no stretch (which is good for durability) and I have to squeeze myself into it. Aside from the sizing issues, this appears to be a high-quality shirt with excellent print.
The shirt's collar was not properly stitched together, and it was angled in one direction. Poor quality control, poor marketing, and poor workmanship. I will not purchase Rothco in the future.
The shirt is exactly what I was looking for, and it matches the utilities we provided to the Recon Marines in Vietnam.
Stylish and cost-effective. I'm 6'2" tall, so it's a good fit for me.
