Because I store it in my gym climbing bag at the end of the day alongside my sweaty harness and chalk bag, I figured it may have something to do with that

It is not as effective to flake it again if it does not flip correctly, so I was thinking of finding an option that was more along the lines of the "bag bucket" In addition to the compression of the bag with the rope, I was very pleased that the buckle straps on the sides also compressed the bag further when they were unclipped for easier storage. Here are the pictures of a bag bucket with a 35 meter and 9 inch long hose. In tow is an 8 rope. In view of the fact that the 35 meter barely fills half the bucket, a 70 meter should easily fit. I think this bag bucket is an excellent addition for anyone who enjoys indoor climbing.
