Questions & Answers

There are 234 ounces in it What would it weigh if it was 14 1/2 pounds?

What a funny thing to say. There is no weight difference between 14 lbs and 12 There are lighter options, but this is not one of them. In my experience, the Black Diamond model is preferred by everyone, so after using this for a season, I switched to it. I liked how much lighter it was and how similar it was to the previous version.

Is there a protective travel cover and a sliding leash on this axe?

The pick and axe covers for an axe do not come with any I am aware of. Although, I believe that black diamond makes a raven that is leashable.

How do you describe this axe's clearance? Positive clearance or negative clearance?

A positive outcome

What is the best size to purchase?

Your boots should be on. You can measure from the wrist to the ground if you hang your hands at your sides. You can go down to the smaller size if you are between sizes. In addition to being 5'7" and liking to use a 65cm axe, I'm also 5'7". It seems as if I should be okay with a 60cm, but I find it to be just a bit too short everwhere. The shorter the ascent you make, the better. If you are going to climb really high, you might want to go short.

There is no way to get these things cheaply
4/5

It is a lot of money for a hand-operated tool to ask for $60. Initially, I bought this item for digging, as I had assumed that it would be My theory was right, it is much lighter than a pickaxe by more than 5 times, but its long handle gives it a good amount It appears to be made of aluminium alloy and its handle is probably made of aluminum, while its head and spike are probably made of hydro-formed aluminum It consists of cut spring steel anodized with a thick layer of magnetite. All in all, it is rather ideal for its intended use and can probably even be used to dig. Because of its quality and thoughtful design, I gave it a 4 out of 5. Even when it strikes stone, concrete, or even metal, it is unlikely to sustain significant damage. If the anodized coating chips off and the tip is struck against a hard surface, it will not rust. Even if the steel becomes dented, the coating will not come off and rust. Due to the brittle nature of this type of steel, you must be careful when impacting it with an angle. If the steel is not forged in a correct manner by a professional smith, it will not bend very far before it breaks. In comparison to other metals, spring steel manufactured in factories has a different quality that allows it to bend very well, as short sections bend easily, but long sections not so easily. This is why leaf springs in automobiles are able to withstand such a great degree of bend. While it takes noticeably less bending to bend it when it is cold, it will not bend as much when used for its original I welded the adze on the back of the head on my ice axe by hand, so it can be assumed the steel would be even more brittle than the rest. It is the structure and coherence of the crystal lattices that determine the properties of metals. There are a few things you should keep in mind depending on what you intend to do with the You probably want to only attempt it if you're an experienced climber.

A lightweight and sturdy design
5/5

Two or three times a week, I go hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains. A snow axe would be necessary in the winter. As an emergency measure, I always have it on me when I'm sliding down a snow-covered I don't need to worry about it adding much weight to my pack as it is lightweight and sturdy. To date, I have not arranged to arrest a fall, but I hope I get the chance to do so in the future. From REI in Rancho Cucamonga, I bought a dog leash.

The tool is quite useful
5/5

A replica of an old pick that isn't replaceable and doesn't have the bells or any of the other new features. Those who whistle. I am used to it the adze is sharp and it is what I am accustomed to Stylish and sturdy, the pick is a pleasure to use. My purposes will be served by it - I am sure K2 is not something I expect to do. It appears to be in good enough quality, so I am confident it will be fully adequate I will update if While the tubular alloy handle is not terribly sharp or smooth, I do find it to be very comfortable, and I'm worried about my grip getting weaker as I get older. Hands covered in gloves. In the end, it is just my life that is at stake! The anti-graffiti tape I purchased was 1" wide Tape to prevent slipping on floors Once I had it wrapped the length, now I felt more confident that I could hold In the cold, it will be a question of how well the tape will hold the metal. A diagonal wrap (and adding an extra wrap between. In total, we used about 2 1/2 feet of the material, so the material doesn't take up much space. has 80 grit, listed as clear, but it is actually a white frost. It makes the axe look like a big blue candy stick. It looks festive! I look forward to getting it out this season on the ice and snow. My body may be old, but I still have a lot of life left! The following will assist me in staying * * *Updates Now that we're well into the season, I've had it out a half dozen times and have upgraded to a 5 star review. In my experience, it has exceeded my expectations in every way easy to navigate, penetrates well into frozen surfaces, stops slides, doesn't wear away, what more could you ask for? This is a better product than what I reviewed when it first hit the market. In case you were wondering, the tape on the handle has held up quite well and has not slipped I have updates for you Update It's been a long two seasons but this tool is still very useful! It has made my day! I would award a sixth star if there was one! This stick on tape is still there and it hasn't been removed. Everything is working great!.

Good value for the money
3/5

I like it a lot, but it is not as strong as I would like. It is a good price but not as good quality as some of the more expensive models. Since I use it for a purpose other than its intended one, I might be the one who's causing the issue. My usual weapon of choice when fighting IEDs is to pry the main charges out of the ground using this device. Compared to my ideal joint, the joining of the head to the handle is not as strong as I'd like it to be.

It's the best way to stay safe at the lowest cost
5/5

It's a great deal for the price. There's no doubt the product is not as light as some of the higher-end products, but it achieves the same task.

There is no telling what you may find when you look
5/5

Hiking local areas with this product is a great way to improve our fitness. Around our house, the creeks are frequently filled with pottery and arrowheads owned by American Indian cultures. It’s a good tool to take with us so we can dig around and discover what may be hiding just underneath The tool does not do what most people would use it for, but it does the job quite.

It's an awesome product
5/5

I climbed Stanley Canyon using it. I went climbing up Stanley Canyon, Colorado, today at about 8,500 feet, which I had to cross a frozen waterfall to reach the other side of with it. climbing about 15 feet at a 70 degree angle, it held my weight and stayed in the ice when I needed it most. This product is fantastic!.
