It is a beautiful ice axe and has a great The glider can be used for gliding down the mountain. Those two mountains are St. Helens and Mount Eerie I am Adams in Washington. I rest my self a few times when I went too fast from glisading down, and it worked really well. As a 5'4" woman, 58cm is the right size for me to safely carry and use.
It was November when Saint Helens first erupted. I used it to clear the boulder field. It is very stable and strong. That day, the best gear I had was this. I really enjoyed using it, and it looked great as well. Just wanted to thank you for such an awesome product. I highly recommend this book!.
This was purchased in order to climb Mount Everest. The Adams family. I was very pleased with the results. When we tried to glissade, we could not maneuver due to ice, though when I tried to abort the ice chute, I was able to self-arrest.
As a starting point, I don't normally give 5 stars, so use that as a starting point. I bought this to replace an old broom handle ice axe that gave out just before a climb up Mount. The Adams family. I did a lot of research before buying an AX after having had it for years. people said they are sexy and said pick up a Grivel. Amazon has it since REI does not carry the red (it looked sexier in black), so it's the Amazon route. I really like the AX (but I am relatively tall (6' 3"), so the handle could have been a little longer (that was what I loved about the old AX) to use it as a When it comes to weight and comfort, it's awesome. I have larger hands so I had no problem holding it in my hands, and my climbing partner with more average sized hands preferred mine to his when trying it out. It is great for making a self-standing carving (something I am unfamiliar with) because it has a curved handle It's easier to arrest when you have leverage. This is what I drew- I am used to the straight handle being easier to jam into snow (and perhaps because I have an old ax to compare it to) this makes the anchor a little more convenient. Although I was able to do it without any problems, the curves of the handle took up more UPH. It took a few tries for me to figure out that if I curve it into the snow as it is planted I like how clean it is. Also, it is more likely to hold up better. I just wanted to let you know. When the snow is really heavy or really packed down, this may be more challenging. There are still a lot of things I want to do on that island, so I.
For the price, it's a great arresting axe for climbing (but not technical) on Mt Washington with the ridge line and other mountains.
It is long, sturdy, and well designed, and I truly appreciate how long and sturdy it is. A rubber cap finishes off the look well. This leash has a strong hook and the ability to be adjusted.
I got it to work on St Helens with no problems. As my glissading ice axe, I am very happy with this purchase. I got it to work on St Helens with no problems. It is not heavy, is of super high quality, and I definitely recommend it.
Grifel is always a good choice.
