This item has been in my possession for nine months. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- Even the longer screws, the four screws used to connect the plate, are too short. I have a weaver saddle with double ply nylon, and I couldn't use it the way it was. I purchased four longer screws and everything worked out perfectly. br>- It was difficult to set up. Yes, I was a slacker and didn't completely dismantle my saddle. It was a tight fit between the waist pad and the nylon belt, so I just squeezed it in there. I wish the plate was on the back side and the carabiner was simply mounted over the belt; it would be a LOT easier to install (I would put this entire sentence in caps but I didn't want to yell at you good people). Advantages: br>br> br> This or something similar is so useful that I can't imagine climbing without it. I'd buy it regardless of the price, even if it was $100. br> The gate closes slowly, which I like. br> The gate has a lock. I don't use it very often, but it's nice to have it. I also like how the lock is shaped like a butterfly, which makes it easy to feel the gate even if you don't have eyes. br> The shape is nice, but I think I'd be happier if it protruded a half inch more from the saddle and the gate was a half inch longer. br> The metal edges are rounded and well machined. I was initially concerned about these because I didn't want metal rubbing against my primary life support on a daily basis, but there has been no evidence of nylon abrasion near the carabiner plate.
Caritool is one of my favorite tools. After breaking three Petzls, I'm confident that this one will last indefinitely. br>br>Here's my only gripe: For some tools, the carabiner's thickness is a little too thick. To fit Ratchet wrenches and other items on it, I had to grind it down.
To be honest, I returned it because my ice screws wouldn't fit over the locking mechanism. Nonetheless, I appreciate the gate's locking mechanism and clearance. If it had been a less expensive item, I would have ground the wings down to allow the screws to rest at the top.
Everything about it appeals to me; it stays secure on my saddle while also directing outward; the lock works flawlessly; and using it with gloves on is a breeze. Other Caritools have flopped around on my saw, making it difficult to rack it. I really like this and think it's well worth the money; however, make sure it fits your saddle first. It comes with two sets of four screws, one short and one long, to give you some mounting flexibility. It's a fantastic piece of equipment; go ahead and purchase it right now.
It's a little larger than I anticipated, but it fits perfectly on my tool belt. The locking mechanism is good and the weight is light. I use it to hold my wrench, level, and anything else that has a key ring or carabiner attached when I'm working on scaffolding.
These are great! I don't carry a lot of gear, so it's great that they don't snag. The dmm dmm dmm dmm dmm dmm d Because the tools are larger, if you're the type who does everything but the kitchen sink, they might be better for you. This one appeals to me because of its smaller size and the way it is secured. (I'm using a dmm that isn't locked. ) It's fine, but I prefer this one. I'll take it for what it's worth.
In addition to the standard length set of four screws, the Transporter Tool Carrier Harness Racking Carabiner specifies that a set of longer screws is included. The set of longer screws that came with my purchase from ElevatedClimbing were missing. In addition, I'm not sure if a 5/64 is appropriate. It was also planned to include a 5/32 inch hexagon six-sided driver - If that was the case, they weren't there either.
The one-handed action is fantastic, especially for a game like this. When you're in an environment where your balance isn't ideal. I've only had mine for a month, but I can't say enough good things about it. Spend your money on your craft; if I had to, I'd buy it again tomorrow.
