My first observation was that the gaff (spike) is on the wrong side. The lacing holding it in is extremely There's a good chance that someone will get killed with these things. Spring to mid-summer you would find it impossible to get a spike out of a soft tree without it coming off your boot if you stepped into one. They should not be used for any other purpose than for a good laugh and a Facebook meme.
I believed this product was exactly as described, but after trying it out, I decided not to use it. There is just too much freedom that doesn't lock into a tree to where I trust it.
Your legs will be in great pain due to the Design. For me to be able to try them, I had to make thick metal leg guards. This isn't my cup of tea.
It is only the ankle straps that cling loosely that they are a bit of a complication.
