Yes, it'll work with the thumb hole insert.
It all depends on how much pressure you put on the tool; I've never had any issues with it.
No, it isn't a battery-powered hole-shaping tool. It works well, but you must be careful not to dig too deep or pull too hard when removing a small amount of material at a time.

This is an excellent tool for shaping and expanding the thumbhole (as well as cleaning the fingerholes when switching grips). I thought it was overpriced for what it was, but I couldn't find it for less anywhere else. I believe this is a tool that every bowler should have in their bag (assuming they ever use a new bowling ball), as you will find that as your thumb swells on the lanes, you will need to make small adjustments to keep throwing with consistent release. This tool will shave smooth, uniform microlayers out of the thumbhole in seconds, allowing you to make quick adjustments and get back into the game. Looking at your thumb from the side/profile and examining the shape as it narrows toward the tip is an advanced tip for thumbhole shaping. Then, when shaping the thumbhole, be careful to leave less material where the tip of the thumb meets the thumbhole, so you can get a better thumbfit and use less grip pressure in your swing, which will improve the quality of both the swing and the release.
First and foremost, don't be concerned if your tool is labeled "powerhouse" rather than ebonite. They're both made by the same company and are the same exact tool. The parent company of both Powerhouse and Ebonite is the same. This is an excellent tool for working out your thumb. I have a lot of switch grip thumb inserts, so it's nice to be able to replace one on my own if one breaks or if my hand swells during a tournament. My pro shop employee is ecstatic that I have one of my own. PRO TIP: br>br> You can mark where the knuckle is making contact on the back side of your thumb with a grease pencil or paint marker/white out, and then use this tool to remove as much as needed for a perfect fit. It's a lot easier to work with than regular sandpaper. With each stroke of this product, a small amount is removed. The result is a smooth thumb hole that doesn't require any additional sanding.
Does exactly what is required of him. Allows you to quickly concentrate on the specific area where my thumb was dangling. This is an extremely useful tool.
My thumb rubbed against the tool, and after a few scrapes, the hole was perfect.
Great. This is a fantastic tool. This is an essential tool if you work on your own equipment.
Very good price.
