Your preference sort of dictates what you do. It would be okay for the tent to have just the interior dimensions. So you would not have to worry about the bottom ripping, and you would also be protected If your tent has a rain fly, it might be necessary to account for that extra space with your tarp if your tent has a rain fly. You just have to decide what you prefer. As long as it's not too large, you could always fold it up, so I would probably lean toward a larger size.
I find this tarp to be extremely lightweight, but I find it to be well built. The one I have is actually a replacement for my old 3-in-1 sunscreen I have tested it outdoors for two people and it works very well (plus it is really waterproof. It probably will work well as a ground cover, but I don't know how it will hold up in that regard. If you need to tie down or any other purpose, the corner grommets would be useful. The price is well worth the purchase. Good luck!
I have been using it as a vapor barrier and found it very sturdy. The soil here is rocky. Puncture-resistance is still present, however. The tarp I use is tough and packs up very small and light, and I would never say that about any other tarp.

The scout pack I bought was to use for my child. The tarp we purchased from a hardware store was one of those crinkly blue tarps that never folded down as small as when it was first purchased and took up plenty of space. I really like this one Folds up small and is easy to pack. So far I have not had any problems with it. I have used it a few times and have not had any issues.
When I used it as a foot print for a two-person tent, the waterproofness was evident on the first use. I had a downpour, and my tent was dry inside and when I took it down, the water had pooled a bit on the tarp with no signs of water getting Considering that this was also frequently used as a canopy above the picnic table at our campground that weekend, perhaps this could be used over there as well. It is possible that I will get another one for that as well. Compact and fits nicely into the storage bag, it can be folded up very easily It is a known fact that this does not happen usually. An excellent deal on a tarp that is well made and lightweight.
Hammock backpacking is the use of this product. In order to ensure that I am dry, I got the 94"x86". You did a great job. It was a bit difficult to remove the eyelets from the fabric, but for the price I didn't mind it. As of now, I give it four stars. The app hasn't really been used by me. During my recent fit/size test with my Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL3, I noticed that the size does run a bit large. Amazon footprints are available in a dozen or more variations. Purchasing the Terra Hiker Tent Footprint was easy since I could get close but not exact measurements. To put this together I thought I would have to cut and sew a little, or at the very least fold it and duct tape it. In my front hall, I set it up today, and when the tent is staked out fully, with both vestibules fully extended, I am somewhat confident that where the footslog ends will be under the tent, with a little bit on either side beneath The footprint should line the bottom of the tent completely so the fabric does not extend beyond the bottom. Due to the small exposed areas being under the vestibules of the tent, I should be able to stay warm. The worst case scenario is that I fold the sides in a little. Here is the update after our backpacking trip in February 2020 Images of the footprint in use on the field are shown in the photos. I bought this as a footprint for my Coleman four-person tent There is no problem with the human tent. The umbrella folds up into an extremely small size and is super easy to store.
