This clock was on her mantle when she passed away years ago, and since then it has never gone off. In assessing the clock, I found that it did not have a winding key, nor did it tell me what size key it required anywhere. In a desperate attempt to wind the clock and hear the chime again, I ordered this set of keys. Since she passed, this set allowed me to listen to the chime for the first time, and find the right key size for my clock, despite my lack of familiarity with its contents. Particularly for people who are not certain what size winding key to get, this would be a great product to consider.
As my father passed away in 1994, I thought it must have been lost. There was little value in it, but a lot of sentimental value. tried to wind it using a key for a mantle clock, but I couldn't make it It looked like it might be the key, but I had no idea what size to pick up. All I used was a 5 in 1 brass key, and it worked perfectly. That was such a great find! I am looking forward to these.
(The original key broke after 38 years. ) I thought I would need a size 8 key for my wall clock. I bought the set that has 10 sizes for extra peace of mind. I had no problems with size 8 and I also had no troubles with sizes 9 and 10.
A couple of weeks ago, I found this cute little clock at a thrift store that needed a key to adjust the time. I bought it for around $2, thinking the tiniest setting would be perfect. Not at all. There is no way to adjust the knobs in the whole cut in the back of the clock. In the end, I decided not to return them since it would have been too much hassle, but in case I ever need a key for a big clock, I'm prepared. The 6-inch clocks might work fine, but I don't know how they work on larger clocks This one is about an inch tall. But at least there's that.
My wallet has never been empty, and I have to pay more than I want, but I can't complain since the keys were so unique, mine included. It's been years since I last had access to the key to my grandfather's mantel clock. The one on this wheel fits. My clock is now working again, which I am very grateful for.
The keys that come with the clock will keep me going if I don't immediately have the one that goes with it.
I think it is fair to say that it is well made and fits well
there is no stop inside the key so it's very easy to push in too far and possibly scratch the clock face. There is a bit of a problem with the center disk, so you will tend to hit the clock hands with the clock keys on each side. This works great, but you just have to be careful with it.
Despite knowing how to do it, my mom didn't put the key in the back like she was When I lost my clock key I bought this on a whim and it worked just fine! Give it a shot if you've lost your.
