Despite the fact that the boxed product would have cost more than the price paid for this product, I was in a hurry. It was important to have them quick. Put them in a 1 quart freezer bag and squish all of the air out before sealing it if you're only going to use them for a couple hours. They stop and start again when they are removed from the heat. The best way to stop them from quitting is to do this numerous times. I would guess it took 10 or so hours in total. Buying more than you can use in a few months is a bad idea. This pair of hand warmers I bought from Target because they were all sold out. During the January women's march in my town, I tested them out for the first time. My hands were warm and toasty for several hours when I first used the hand warmers, but I was pleased that they lasted for several hours.
