Hello, Little Folks Book and Toy is an authorized Coleman dealer. The perfect flow works in the same way, except the glass shield is protected when you want to store it because the top pulls down. In terms of product efficiency, both function and have comparable light capacities, with the perfect flow emitting slightly more luminescence. This, in our opinion, boils down to product design and the ability to store one product more efficiently than the other. Sincerely; br> Barbara J., br>Barbara J., br>Barbara J., Barbara J. However, before it exploded in flames, it was extremely bright! The tank to lantern connection was not a problem, as the threads are fine in the photos, and the tank works fine on a torch. I'm sticking with all metal from now on because it took less than 5 minutes from the time of assembly to the time of fire!.
While the product description claims instastart (without matches) and a 1540 lumen output, what you get is a 1000 lumen match start. There are two different descriptions under the product, the second of which is correct; I'm not sure what the first description refers to. Before I can figure it out, I'm leaving for camping. Amazon has done some sloppy work.
I bought this small lantern to hang on my net while eel fishing late at night. One propane tank lasted all night on its brightest setting. I'd also suggest getting the carrying case because it's glass, and if it breaks, you're out of luck. It went together quickly. It is easy to light and bright. Is a hard worker who knows what she's doing. This summer, I'm looking forward to taking it camping.
The lantern is fine, but the instructions that came with it are a bit confusing. There is insufficient detail. The mantles also came with string, according to the advertisement. They didn't do it. When you try to "tie" them, you get a cut from the sharp metal wire. It makes me wonder if this lantern is genuine or if it has some fake mantles in it. UPDATE : After doing some research, I discovered that the INSTA CLIP mantles are supposed to come with a twisting plastic tab. That wasn't included in the box. The wires are exposed, and the ends are extremely sharp. I can't believe such a venerable company would provide such shoddy mantles for a lantern. Coleman, you are a jerk.
You can feel safe using this product because it is of excellent quality. This was the best deal I could find on Amazon, and I'm glad I got it. This brightened up my entire backyard, and it came with excellent packaging and a very nice metal-like finish. Mantles must be tied. With a new bottle of propane, Coleman claims that it can run for 8 hours on HIGH. On our camping trip this weekend, we'll put this claim to the test. Last time, we only had flashlights and were kicking ourselves for not purchasing a lantern. The advantages of this lantern are already becoming apparent. Excellent light, with heat as a side effect. Simple design and a good product (for those cold trips). br>br>**If you've never used one of these lanterns before, be aware that they get extremely hot (because they're burning fuel to produce light)**.
What can I say, it's a lantern, similar to the old Coleman fuel lanterns, but it uses propane instead of gasoline. It's fairly bright, and the higher you get, the brighter it is. I miss the old lanterns, but I have to admit that this version accomplishes the same goals. There is no fuel to spill, it burns well, the light output can be adjusted, and it collapses to a small size when not in use. I made a home out of it with the mantles, packed it up, and went camping in a campground without electricity. When it got dark and I needed light, I pulled out the lantern. It whistled for about two seconds on low the first night when I turned down the light because I didn't need it at full throttle, but it didn't make the sound the following two nights. br>br>A few things to keep in mind: this thing uses combustion to light, it burns propane, keep it away from flammable materials because it gets hot, don't use it in an enclosed space, and let it cool before storing it in a tent overnight. Also, those small battery lanterns, headband lights, and flashlights make it easier to navigate the campground lights.
This lantern was purchased because I spend a lot of time in the evenings working in my yard. With the shorter days of winter, I figured this would be a good way to make the most of my time. Although assembly was simple and straightforward, attaching the propane tank to the lantern proved to be a challenge. I was taking extra precautions to avoid colliding with other people. thread it, but it took a lot of upward pressure on the tank to get it to start on the threads in the end. When I turned it on after it got dark outside, I was disappointed to find that it was not nearly as bright as I had hoped. The mantles themselves are quite bright, but the lantern fails to cast out light in my opinion. Coleman hasn't given me what I was expecting.
For my most recent camping trip, I wanted a Coleman Lantern because I had fond memories of them as a child, but when I opened the box at my campsite and pulled the lantern from the box, I immediately noticed that the mantles were burned and sitting at the base of the lantern glass cylinder. It was not only used, but it was also quite frail. It didn't fit well in the base and appeared to have been abandoned. Fortunately, I had purchased extra mantles, which I was able to use during my trip. I was going to return it, but I already used it and burned the box it came in, so I guess I'll have to keep it and bid it farewell. My $30 is no longer with me. I had high hopes for a company like Coleman. Perhaps they'll read this review and offer a replacement if they still have any customer service. We'll have to wait and see, but I'm not holding my breath. If I hear from them, I'll make a post.
