2) the topper is made of plastic, it can melt on an open fire, and every percolator I've ever had-unless it was a brand new one-has this same problem. Either not measured correctly or just sitting so it comes loose after a short time. If you don't want to use the plastic topper, I recommend buying the glass option for $6. As long as you take good care of it, it will serve you 3) the filter is removable, it is made of aluminum, and everybody thinks that it is This is not true, you don't need to pack 2 pounds of coffee into a filter in order to make great Using this size filter, you can prepare four cups and a half As a result, I bought the smallest percolator I could find for backpack camping. It's not too big nor too small, and if set up properly, you will have excellent coffee. The filter is removable so you can use it to make soups, teas, etc. You should keep in mind that it is aluminum and has the potential to bend very easily. I personally don't prefer it, but it does the job. 4) I saw some comments about the bottom seal leaking. Mine has not leaked, so I'm thankful for that. Other than the topper, this percolator is ideal for a couple or a single camper, or you can use it as your everyday coffee It is my hope that this will work out for everyone and that your day will go well. I wish you joy and adventure as you venture out into the worlds of the Sun and Stars.
It has a cute speckled pattern in black. Each time it is used, the top glass cap falls off of the attachment and the lid comes off as well. To remove the attachment, place it in its original position and squeeze the metal tightly. The quality was poor, and the product was not as thick as I had expected. I would not order again and wish that I could get a refund of the money I spent.
The camping percolator is, in general, standard. Remember that the glass piece on top is plastic, so it can melt if you use it over a campfire. On Amazon, you can purchase a universal glass replacement My preference would have been to pay more, but the percolator with a glass top would have been fine too. A company that makes adjustable tops Tops Top of all Percolator, 13/16-Inch, Glass, All Replacement Measured in inches, each equals one The half-way point Measure in inches.
I overspent on this. It is not large in size. Having a dispenser (coffee holder) made of plastic is a bit fragile and can easily break. Crystals keep falling off of the lid of the box. There is no way for me to keep it Hence, the lid fell off with the metal holding it in place coming loose. Despite what you may think, I don't abuse the coffee maker. There is only one user of this program. Whenever I wash it, I do it by hand. A coffee cup like this would not last long at a campsite. However, the flavor is wonderful.
Having to use teabag coffee has been a challenge for me and my husband. On our camping trip, we were able to drink percolated coffee and it was excellent. My other pots are from the same company and they are always in good condition.
I found it helpful that the directions for percolating coffee were included. I find getting the see-through bubble out of the top annoying, although the plastic is easy to clean.
He can reach the coffee during the day after the kitchen has closed, because it is close to the coffee shop. It's sure to come in handy after he gets back to work away from home on his long trips.
I bought it for home use, so as long as I do not abuse it, or drop it, it should last for a long time. The metal is thin, and the lid hinge is cheaply made. I had higher expectations due to the fact that it is made in the USA. I knew immediately why the quality was not what I was hoping for when I saw the made in China sticker. The coffee is fantastic, aside from that.
