Questions & Answers

Is it possible to fit a 32-ounce Nalgene water bottle into this cup?

No, as a quick reply. This is a lengthy response. You'll need a space saver cup like the Olicamp Space Saver Cup - which I use in conjunction with my Nalgene 32oz bottle - which will fit the majority of 32oz Nalgene water bottles Alternatively, the GSI Outdoors Glacier Bottle Cup/Pot will do the trick, though I haven't tried it. Because the GSI cup is 18 ounces in size, it may not fit as snugly as the Olicamp cup. Both of these, by the way, are stainless steel and can be found on Amazon. The TOAKS cup was purchased because it fit into the Maxpedition Jumbo versipak's water bottle compartment. - The Olicamp and I'm assuming - The GSI is too big to fit in. I paired the TOAKS cup with a REI-purchased 28-ounce Kleen Kanteen water bottle for use with my Maxpedition backpack. It really works. If you must have a titanium cup, I have yet to find one that nests as well as the two cups mentioned above. I hope this information is useful.

I'm curious about the origin of this cup. ?

This is a Chinese product.

I'm wondering if the TOAKS 400ml cup will fit the Snow Peaks hot lips. ?

Titanium cools quickly, even when filled with hot tea or coffee, so they are unnecessary. They are in my possession, and they fit, but I do not use them.

Is there room inside this cup for a trangia alcohol stove?

Cup measures 3 inches (80mm) in diameter on the inside and 3 inches (80mm) on the outside. Inside height is 5/16" (89mm).

Great cup for the price
4/5

I like it because it's lightweight, and I can hold it over a flame or a canister stove to reheat it if it cools down while I'm drinking something hot. When backpacking, I find that this is preferable to purchasing a larger, more expensive, and heavier double wall cup or a mug from home. Also, for those interested in using it to cook or heat liquid over the many canister stoves on the market, its base diameter is too small to fit on the pot supports of most popular brands of canister stoves on the market, but I've had no problem just holding it over the flame for about 10 seconds and boom, same result, handles never got hot on me during this either, it seems to be absorbed into the liquid before that happened, but I'm only warming it back up to a comfortable drinking temperature. Consider the if you want a small cup that can be used as a cup, bowl, or cook pot and don't mind the weight of stainless steel.

It's been a good friend to me for a long time
5/5

Mine has been in my possession for quite some time. br>br>I bought it while working in a now-defunct plywood mill because the company was good about putting those 5 gallon water coolers everywhere, but not so good about providing any drinking cups. br>br>It has literally been tied (in the provided orange mesh carry bag) to the roll cages of a few forklifts on many a shift in that old plywood mill. It's been a long time since I've been camping. It's gone on a couple of road trips. br>br>It has earned its patina and will continue to do so in the future. br>br>Water has tasted like water for the past ten years or so, even after being drawn from a variety of wells. Titanium is a neutral metal in this regard. You won't be able to enjoy an ice cold gulp straight from an old, hand-dug country well because it doesn't absorb nearly as much of that heavily treated city water stench. It's where soft drinks and the occasional beer are kept. It's an excellent piece to have on hand. br>br> br>br>The folding wire handles are still in good condition and work as intended. br>br>Here are a couple of minor quibbles:

- It is true that the handles warm up. When you first top it off with coffee, you'll notice this. You'll be fine if you set it down between quick sips, but keep in mind that this isn't a thick ceramic mug. It's made of metal, which warms up over time.

- Cold drinks, on the other hand, will not stay cold. It has no room for ice and will hold the contents of a 12 ounce can of soft drink or whatever else you want to put in it. br>br>- returning to the grips: I wouldn't put this and a can of soup over a campfire because the handles are too short. br>br>However, this humble little titanium tin cup has proven its worth and continues to serve. br>br>It's one of those "why did I buy this?" types of purchases. "Items that have humbly proven their worth time after time. " br>br>As long as you take care of it and don't run it over with a truck, it could also be a useful piece of equipment for you.

a good mug It's a good size, if a tad on the small side, and falls just short of what most dehydrated meals require, but it gets the job done
4/5

It has a large enough capacity to hold a cup of coffee. The construction is decent; it's relatively sturdy and hasn't yet deformed in a fire, though I imagine it will if it's empty; the handles are light, sturdy, and comfortable. The mug may heat up to the point where you can't hold it by the handles, but they stay cooler than the mug and the whole thing cools down quickly when compared to other metals. The surface has a slight texture and isn't polished, but I've had no trouble keeping it clean. When I was burning dead fall in a bushbox stove, the mug became covered in creosote, but a little elbow grease got it clean after it cooled. br>My Fancy Feast Wick Stove with 2 oz bottle of fuel (denatured alcohol inside a 5 hr energy bottle) fits inside the mug and is held snugly in place by a standard Bic lighter. I've read on Amazon that a Blue Diamond Almond can lid snaps on, which would be nicer than keeping it in a sack and would fit over the packed contents. br>I only gave it four stars because it does not come with a lid. (For only $5 more, I found a second 450 mL Ti cup with lid and the same orange sack! Hmmm. ) I also discovered a third-party vendor (Batchstovez) that makes aluminum lids to go with this product.
