I believe they are BPA-free, but I haven't tested them. they made a wave My daughter needed them for Girl Scouts, so we bought them, but I wouldn't use them for camping (personally). Enamel is my preferred choice. ware or a more long-lasting material Because they're BPA-free, I think they'd be fine, but as with any plastic, don't overheat your food or it'll melt. I hope this helps.
Yes, a mesh dunk bag was used to ship my order. My daughter's Girl Scout camping trip went off without a hitch.
The plate, cup, and bowl are made of 100% polypropylene while the utensils are made of 100% lexan according to the manufacturers information. Because BPA isn't used in the manufacturing of polypropylene, it should be BPA-free. However, lexan (a polycarbonate made primarily of BPA and phosgene) would almost certainly contain BPA.
No, in my experience, it is not dishwasher safe. even when placed on the top shelf of the dishwasher After their first wash cycle, both the plate and the bowl were bent out of shape.

The plate, bowl, and cup are all made of sturdy materials. The utensils are underwhelming, particularly the spoon, which is flimsy, oddly shaped, and largely useless. You should bring your own silverware instead of the one that comes with it. The dishes, on the other hand, feel like high-end tupperware. Actual tupperware, not the 4 for $1 Ziploc stuff. They're stiff, but they're also sleek and attractive. The finish is nice and glossy, so putting them in the dishwasher to keep them that way is probably not a good idea. They can be washed in the dishwasher, but the finish will fade faster. br>br>These were purchased for a girl scout camp and have held up well. With the exception of the utensils, these are extremely durable dishes. (We used titanium travel ware in place of the included utensils in the photos. ).
Discouraged: I recently purchased two sets to use at a Scout camp. Cleaning is a challenge. Even after washing with a small amount of water and soap, the food residue remained stuck on the plates. So when we got home from camp, we cleaned up the plates, cups, and bowls in the top rack dishwasher before putting them away. After the first wash cycle, I discovered that both the plates and the bowls were bent out of shape. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this outcome. Otherwise, I'm giving it two stars because it has a nice look and is useful. a financial blunder.
When our son joined Boy Scouts, I bought him a mess kit, which he takes camping every month and has held up well. We do put everything in the dishwasher every weekend, and it still looks brand new. I like that it's bright orange so he won't misplace it and that it stands out against the rest of the crowd. This was a wise investment.
This package also includes a dunk bag, which is ideal for camping. My daughter enjoyed the set when we went camping with the Girl Scouts.
The plastic is of good quality. It's possible that holding very hot food in it will be difficult, so exercise caution. Instead of three separate pieces, I wish it included an all-in-one eating utensil.
I bought a few of these from the Boy Scout store, but I'd have to replace any that my young family misplaced. This is the same kit as the BSA kit, though the flatware appears to have undergone a few changes since I bought my kits. One has never broken or been damaged in my possession. Extremely long lasting. The net bag makes it very easy and neat to dry the set after it has been washed. The only problem I have with these is that they like to collect oil and grease. If we cook bacon or eat something greasy, we'll need to use a lot of detergent or an alkalinity booster to get the fat out of the kit.
I've only taken three camping trips with these, but I'm pleased with my purchase so far. I don't use the cups because I don't like the handles, and I prefer GSI's infinity mug with the cozy, but the plate, bowl, and utensils are made of sturdy plastic that won't break easily. The included mesh stuff sack is nice; I bought two of these and combined the plates, bowls, and utensils into one stuff sack (excluding the cups), and it holds everything in place without issue. I re- I used the other stuff sack to store my MSR fry pan, a small spatula, and some oil and seasoning bottles.
I really liked this item because it comes with everything you need to clean up after a party. Requirements for the kit It had its own mesh bag and a handy ring for utensils so they didn't get lost during our camping trip with the cub scouts. We ordered all colors so that each could be assigned to a different person and each could be in charge of cleaning their own color. I would have given this a five-star rating if it had been my choice. Just be aware that different colors cost different amounts, which SUCKS, and we wanted different colors for each person going on the trip. If they were all equally charged, they would get five stars, but that isn't the case. You're not sure why one color costs more than another?.
