Product Description

ESSENTIAL GEAR: "Bombproof" metal cups, 6 oz., for hiking, backpacking, camping, tailgating, and picnics. The total weight is 8 oz, and the size is 3 inches. 5" tall and 3" wide It's 87" wide and has a flat bottom, so it's big enough to fit a fuel canister inside. The cup transforms into a small functional cooking pot with its lid and 20 oz/600 ml capacity (to the brim). The folding handle makes it small enough to fit in a backpack, water pouch, or bug-out bag while still allowing the handles to extend away from the flames when cooking.
MINIMALIST COOKING: With its single-walled design, 17oz/550ml usable capacity, and lid, it's easier to boil water and prepare 16 oz "pouch" meals. Measuring is simple with graduated oz and ml markings on the inside. The lid cuts down on heating time, saves fuel, and allows the cup to hold a meal while rehydrating. The bottom of the cup has a flat and rounded edge, making it ideal for eating and cleaning. Each cup is also packaged in a mesh bag for easy transport.
CONVENIENT LID: The strainer holes on the lid allow you to drain excess water while cooking noodles or rice, and the steel tab on the lid top will stand upright, keeping your hands cooler while you cook. The cup and lid can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. Additional lids can be found on Amazon if you search for "DZO Universal Cup Lid."
PERFECT "NESTING": This cup can be used as a nesting cup, a bottle cup, or a space saver. When nesting with a water bottle, the lid can be tucked under the bottom of the cup. The cup fits under a variety of bottles, including Nalgene 32 and 48 oz and Ultralight 32 and 48 oz, Klean Kanteen 40 oz, Camelbak Eddy 32 oz, HydroFlask 40 oz, MSR Alpine 1000 ml, Gatorade 32 oz, and many others. It also goes well with the Stanley Camp Cook Set and the Adventure Medical 32 oz First Aid Kit from Adventure Medical.
UNIVERSAL FIT: This cup/pot fits the smallest Esbit, Evernew, Trangia, Firebox, Bushcraft Essentials stoves/stands, as well as most other popular brands such as Coleman, Solo Stove, Etekcity, MSR, Wealers, Toaks, Outad, Stansport, Vargo, Teksport, Clikstand, Emberlit, Optimus, Coughlans, Biolite, Sterno, Jetboil, Snow peak

Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with the Nalgene Stainless Bottle 38 oz?

The DZO lid I bought separately did not fit my Olicamp Stainless Space Saver Cup, which was close but not quite the same size as the Olicamp.

How big are the inner dimensions?

The distance between the outer brim and the outer brim is 100 mm. I'd say 91 mm from bottom to brim (measured from the inside) and 96 mm across (internal) from one inner wall to the opposite side's inner wall.

Is it big enough to hold a 40-ounce Kleen Kanteen?

It certainly fits my needs, which is why I purchased it.

Are the snow peak hotlips appropriate for this?

Yes, they are compatible.

The quality of the fit and finish is excellent, and the price is extremely reasonable

If this is the size pot you require, I have no reservations in recommending it. So far, I've used it to boil water and cook oatmeal, and it's worked perfectly. The lid is well-fitting, and the handles are strong. It was simple to keep clean. The only criticism is that it may be a little too small for some people's needs. br>br>The only criticism is that it may be a little too small for some people's purposes. 600 milliliters equals about two gallons. You can easily boil two cups, which is plenty for most one-person meals. a backpacker's requirements You won't be able to cook an entire meal in the pot, but if you're using Mountain House style freeze dried meals, you can simply pour hot water into the bag. If you don't eat that way, this pot can still be used to cook a side dish, such as broccoli, or to make a broth or soup. You can make a backcountry feast with it if you pair it with a small pan for frying up some meat, and then use it to make a cup of tea before bed. br>br>10/9/17 UPDATE: I took it on its first overnight backpacking trip this past weekend, and I'm happy to report that my initial impressions are still valid. I made a 4-quart pot of water and boiled it. I put 5 broccoli florets and an entire carrot in the pot, which is large enough for my needs, and then drained the water through the lid's convenient holes. I cooked it on a simple canister stove (this is the third time I've cooked it on a burner), and there is no discoloration on the bottom. Still in a good mood! If anyone is interested, I've added a couple of DIY backpacking accessories to it. I started by making a pot cozy out of reflectix (foil-backed aluminum foil). bubble wrap (with a coating) and duct tape, which kept my broccoli in tact. While I was eating the carrots, they were still warm. The other thing is that I gained about a foot-and-a-half of height. Velcro OneWrap (which is a double-sided tape) is a long piece of Velcro. My stove, a small Bic lighter, a pot scrubber, a small cloth, a piece of aluminum foil, a tea bag, and sugar all fit comfortably inside; a fuel canister is too large for this pot, but as I previously stated, you should know what size you're getting before you buy!.

For those who can afford TI, this is the ideal cup/pot! If you're looking for a solo adventure, this is the place to be
4/5

If you can not see yourself spending $40 for a slightly lighter titanium unit, this is a great compromise. The cup is sturdy enough to last a long time and the The fact that it fits in the bottom of a water bottle is a plus, but it's not a deal-maker or a deal-breaker for me. Instead of using the cup to protect the bottom of a water bottle, I'd rather store my coffee supplies or stove inside. br>br>Plan ahead to either wait for the cup and contents to cool slightly before drinking (it's all metal, so it won't take long), or get a set of MSR "hot lips" to allow you to drink from the cup while it's still hot. You could also carry a couple of tubes of chapstick to put on your burned lips, but I believe the first two options are preferable. br>br>I would have given the cup five stars if the edges on the lid had been cleaned up to remove burrs and the handle mounts had been tightened up a little more. Regardless, this is an excellent purchase.

Excellent feature- Cup with a lot of depth that goes well with other things
5/5

• Solid construction; • Better value than comparable lidless cups • Volume markings on the insidebr>• Good lidbr>Handles are not wiggly. well- D- is attached ring- • Pairs well with the Stanley Adventure Camp Cook set because of the handle and good ventilation / drain holes. br> Set the Stanley inside the DZO cup, place the DZO lid on top of the Stanley, and finally place the Stanley lid on top of the DZO lid. The Stanley locking handle still works perfectly. This works well for storing some fire-starting materials inside the Stanley for a convenient cooking set. (I don't nest my water bottle; that is transferred to another location.

By itself, the lid is almost as expensive as the cup
4/5

The markings in the cup are easy to see, and it is a decent enough hunk of steel of a cup, but the arms are a little flimsy compared to the other two cups. Not as bad as some other no-name cheap cups, but the Space Saver and Glacier Cup are both better. The Lid, on the other hand, is AMAZING. By itself, the lid is almost as expensive as the cup. It sits comfortably, the tab stays in place, and it fits all of the cups listed above. If you need a lid for your cup, this is the one to get. You should be able to afford both the Glacier (and possibly the Glacier Large) and one of these to cover it. Then have a spare steel cup for around the house, in the garage, or wherever you need it. This is a fantastic cover. I'm a little irritated that you can't seem to get the lid by itself like you used to be able to. DZO should have made their cup the best one out there, at least as good as the Olicamp, if they were going to stop selling the lid to force people to buy the cup as well. That was annoying, but the lid is still a great lid if you're looking for a lid for a steel bottle cup, and well worth the $13 you'd pay for it.

Good cup
5/5

You might be able to find one for less money, but not with a lid included. After the first use, it was a good cup. I tried it on an esbit stove with a Hexamine or esbit cube, and all the black soot came off and it still looks good. I made hot cocoa with my son (despite the cold and snow, I occasionally opened the door for air circulation). He had a good time, and I had a good time as well. Good cup. I'm not easily pleased, and I wasn't paid to write this review. Not at the time of writing, at least. I speak up because I don't like it when people are taken advantage of on Amazon by fake reviews. This isn't a cheap cup, but it's not outrageously priced either; I simply liked the design enough to purchase one. This and a few other stainless steel items were purchased for camping and backpacking. For lightness and to pass down to my children and grandchildren, the majority of the rest of my items will be Titanium. I hope my children and their children's children enjoy spending time outside (and that they don't attract as many mosquitoes as I do). Whoever is in charge of marketing this product has done an excellent job.

The Stanley adventure cook kit nests well with the 20 oz/medium size
5/5

To go with my Stanley adventure cook kit, I got the 20 oz size. It nests beautifully, and the lids are perfectly aligned. It has marked measurement Mark's on the inside by the front of the cup, which I tested with boiling water and had no issues with. I think those will come off if I scrub it hard enough. I wish it had the same stamping as the tall version. I believe the large/tall size would be too big for the Stanley, so choose the medium.
