Selected User Reviews For CamelBak Horizon 12 oz Camp Mug - Insulated Stainless Steel - Tri-Mode Lid
There were two requirements: the entire mug, not just the lid, had to be dishwasher safe, and the mug had to hold 15 ounces of liquid. br>br>As it turns out, in the world of stainless steel mugs, those are some pretty tough requirements to meet. I was considering the Rtic mug, but the reviews were mixed when it came to the seal in the lid's integrity. I didn't want to buy the Yeti mug, despite the fact that it checked all the boxes and came in a variety of colors. (I find it difficult to support that company because the prices of many of their products appear to be excessive. ) to say it another way. )br>br>After reviewing a slew of off-the-beaten-path options, I saw an advertisement for the Camelbak Horizon collection of mugs, which included both name brand and non-name brand mugs. The mug and its tri-color design have brought me great pleasure. Both the mode and the lid can be washed in the dishwasher. The disadvantage is that it only holds 12 ounces of liquid, and it's even less if you want to keep the lid on. I decided to take the plunge and buy the Larkspur mug. br>br>I have a lot of fun with this mug. I'm pleased to report that it keeps my tea/coffee hotter for longer than any porcelain mug I've ever used. I haven't even used the lid yet because the insulated mug does such a good job on its own. The bottom of the mug has a secure silicone pad, which prevents the mug from sliding on smooth surfaces and prevents me from accidentally slamming it down. Innovation is a good thing! br>br>I noticed some gray residue on my white dishtowel from the inside of the mug, so it needs to be scrubbed and wiped out thoroughly before the first use. The fact that liquid gets trapped under the movable section of the tri-fold door was another thing I noticed that I didn't like. mode lid. It will almost certainly require thorough cleaning in the future to prevent bacteria from forming in there from various liquids, and I wish I could take the lid apart for that purpose, but that's a minor quibble in the grand scheme of things. br>br>Because of my positive experience with the product, I'm sold on this mug and have purchased several for family members.
Granted, they're not as expensive as Hydro Flask's similar cups, but they're still good cups, with a matte finish that looks like it was sprayed on rather than a separate rubber cover on the Hydro Flask. Although it keeps my coffee warm for a long time, my main criticism of this cup is that it is tippy. The rubber disc underneath the cup only covers about 1/4" of the bottom of the cup, leaving about 1/4" all around the outer edge of the cup without support, making the cup easy to tip. I would rate this cup as excellent if it were more stable.
I can't speak highly enough of this product, or the Camelbak brand in general. Everything they produce is fantastic, but this insulated cup in particular is incredible. I take my morning coffee slowly and usually discard half of it when it becomes too cold. This cup keeps my coffee hot for at least three hours, and the lid is designed for easy sipping with no spillage. The first of these was a gift, and I loved it so much that I bought one for my husband; it's a must-have, and no, I'm not being paid to say this: ) nothing more than a happy customer.
CamelBak kept me hydrated while I was in the military, which saved my life. CamelBak is now saving my sanity by putting that thingy on the bottom of the cup that prevents your cup from banging against a table. Thank you, CameBak!.
But, like the other reviewers, I have to agree that the base is an awkward size. The rubber anti-slip mat The slip base is slightly smaller than the mug's base, causing it to be wobbly by nature. I'm not sure why they didn't simply make it the same size as the mug. br>br>In terms of insulation, it's on par with any other thermal mug I've used. Although not as good as a proper thermos, it is preferable to an open-air mug.
A mug that is otherwise very nice is ruined by a poor design. The "non-profit" that was advertised was actually a for-profit organization. The "slip silicone base" on the bottom protrudes 1 to 2 millimeters from the cup, reducing the amount of contact with a flat surface. The cup can wobble even if it is only lightly touched. It's a pity because the materials and construction quality are excellent.
This mug has proven to be extremely useful. I like how the bottom is silicone so it doesn't scratch my table, and I also like how the lid has a closing tab - I tipped it over by accident one day, and despite the fact that it isn't spill proof, I caught it before anything spilled. The cup keeps my coffee hot for a long time, but it does dissipate over time; additionally, I can fit about 13 oz in the cup without difficulty, which is a nice bonus! When cleaning, I pop out the tab and remove the rubber gusset from the lid with a toothpick to clean underneath it. It's incredibly simple to reassemble.
I wanted to give it a try because it had so many positive reviews. It didn't keep my coffee warm for more than an hour, and it doesn't fit in a car cup holder (which I already knew). I was quite dissatisfied because I have other coffee containers that keep coffee hot for three times longer. In addition, if the lid is turned on its side, even when closed, it will leak. This isn't good. The only thing I like about it is the grip, which is non-slip. The bottom of the skid and the color of the skid. It should be far better for the price. I strongly discourage you from doing so.
