Questions & Answers

Can you tell me whether the handles are silicone covered like the thumb pads or if they are made of another ?

Rubber coating is believed to be on the handles. When I use this pot on a stove, each time I lift the handles from the pot, I must remember to keep them away from the pot's side to prevent them from melting. This pot is fantastic with a backpacking stove and it also does well over a fire. I am very pleased with it. In addition to using the thumb pads for grip, you can also strain food with the lid.

The pot is great, the support is crappy
4/5

The pots are great. Buying the 4 was a good buy for me. There is a 7L and a 2L size. I did not know it from the description, but the utensil does not have a nonstick coating which I considered There are no plastic parts on the pots (you can see them in the photo). They are made of anodized aluminum. Therefore, there is no coating that will eventually flake off and require you to replace it. The anodized aluminum also conducts heat very evenly, and it has a little bit of a nonstick characteristic. There is a thin layer of metal on the pots, which I did not expect to find. It would be inappropriate to treat them with too much harshness. In order for the pots to stay in place on certain cooktops, the base has a series of spiral grooves. There is a lot of strength in the handles. The coating on the handles may melt if you leave them folded while cooking (I've heard of others reporting the same result. a stuff sack that is designed to fit the pot pretty well. It is perfectly possible to nest the 2 liter pot with the lid on inside the 4 liter pot. The 7th letter). It does slide sideways in the larger pot when the small pot is in it. The 3 are not with me. A 2L pot would nest between a 2L and 4L, but even if it did nest, that would only make it 2L. With pots that size, and due to the clearance required by the handles on the lids, there's no way to fit all 3 lids on them since the height clearance is too small. With the 2L out of the picture, 3 also seems unlikely to me. A two-legged nest would be appropriate, As for the 4, it is as follows. I have 10L. Inverting the lids would cut off a bit of height (3/8"), and maybe, all three would nest. However, the lids would slide around a lot if they were In closing, here are the four final points. There will be plenty of room for the 7L pot inside the 12-inch dutch oven, but the top will peek out (the lid of the dutch oven will not fit back inside). 4 *br /*br Pot dimensions for 7L (measurements taken by me) This is the outside diameter of the pot's rim (without a lid) From 10 to * Pot base to rim (no lid) outside height 1 1/4" (handles do not extend beyond this when folded)
* Measure the inside diameter of the pot base (cooking surface) 1/2 in. The inner diameter of the pot (no lid) is about 1/2 inch. The outside diameter of the lid is 3/8"

The pot is 2 litres in volume. GSI's marketing materials, the package and the pot itself say it has a capacity of 2L, but I haven't measured it. Is there a reason why we should not give 4 stars rather than My only problem with GSI customer support was that I never received a reply to my simple email asking whether the pots would nest. Was sure I wouldn't get a response after that too if there was an issue.

This cookware is a good buy, but it could use some improvement
4/5

The strainer lid and the size of the pot influenced my decision to buy it. For those two aspects, it is fantastic. Obviously, this is an excellent item to have in my camping kit between the classic Coleman enamelware camp pot and my jet boil apparatus. There is no doubt that this kettle is more durable and easier to clean than the Jetboil, but not quite There is a rubber bit on the end of the device that prevents it from being used over an actual fire. This does not not affect my judgment, but the ridged texture on the bottom tends to collect soot like no other surface. My wife and I have used it twice so far, once on my Coleman stove and once over a propane firepit. I had to burn the rubber handles on the Coleman because the flames were intense enough to lose their effectiveness. Once I take it off the fire, it doesn't keep heat so I like to be able to touch it and box it up without having to wait for it to cool down. There is a light weight to it, but not too A scraper I got from GSI was pretty effective at getting rid of the grime. When I get home, I run the dishwashing machine through it until it's mostly clean, except for the soot in between We use a scrubber and some Comet to get the job done. As a do-it-all pot, I prefer the Coleman better, but this is a little bigger and has strainer holes that make it even easier to use. Despite its price, I would buy it again, but it is a bit pricey compared to what you get. I am dropping half a star because of the price and down half a star because it is hard to clean.

She advised me to buy a quality computer, and I wanted to please her
5/5

My boyfriend and I just returned from a week-long bike trip with our teen boys and this pot was perfect for cooking all of our meals. A circular groove on the bottom of the pot keeps it from sliding on the stove (MSR Pocket Rocket). Taking a meal for the whole family is easy with this size. Heat resistance is a major advantage of these handles. Water can be easily drained out of the strainer holes because of the rubber grippers on the lid. A lot of thought went into GSI. For my family of four, this pot and my GSI Dualist mess kit were our only rations. The GSI cookware I use for camping quickly became my favorite. The design and construction are both very well thought out. Even though the cost is a bit higher, it's well worth it.

This pot is made of hard-anodized aluminium
5/5

A nesting set can be made from all three of these. This pot was purchased The number 5! two smaller pots to complete the They do nest. I've added 4 to the list. My 7l pot has been wrung out repeatedly since I got it and it is still as good as new. This is kind of funny. As an alternative to an expensive stainless steel set I currently own, I plan to use this set. The stainless pots from my household have always stuck to the surface the Halulite pots never have. All 3 of these should be purchased. There is no reason to regret it. The only thing I regret is that I didn't buy all three before the price hike.

We love the Halulite series from GSI
5/5

The GSI Halulite series is one of my favorites! Camping cookware is one of our favorites! As part of our scout program, we use it for backpacking. To heat up all of those dehydrated meals, a lot of hot water can be quickly heated. Even though we are not ultralight backpackers, it is convenient to have our stoves and various other kitchen supplies in our "kit" as well as the mesh that holds it all in place. Because it never fails, scouts lose the detachable kind of pot grippers when they take them out of the bags. No matter how the handles are folded, the GSI halulite is nestable. You should pull up the handles of the pan before cooking it. Once they're hot or on top of a little backpacking stove, they're a bit "fleecey" and you'll want to avoid handling them in that condition. With a pot of this size, we use a windscreen so as to maximize heat to use as little fuel as possible to boil the water. Having not used the pot for cooking, just for water preparation, I cannot speak to heat distribution or the nonstick effect, at least not yet These properties make them easy to clean up. The Halulite pots we bought are light, sturdy, and we are very pleased with them. They're a bit pricey, but scouts and leaders appreciate the fact that these pots don't take up as much space as other pots. As well as personal gear, my family uses Halulite minimalist, and it has held up phenomenally for the last five years while it's been banged around in the backpacks of teenagers.

It's not a heavy one, but this one is big
5/5

I can't believe the size of that Aone pot meals are right up your alley if you are into them. The only meal that does not fit in this bowl has never been mine. In addition to being sturdy and light, the metal is quite malleable. My Scouts have used it on a number of camping trips. It feeds six people most of the time Without any problems, I am able to use Windows 8. Despite having only purchased it a year ago, the pot is still in excellent condition. it is worth spending a little extra to get a better product. There are times when you have to do it.
