Questions & Answers

What is the lid's weight? Can it be removed? The lid on my percolator isn't hinged, so it's easy to clean in the dish washer I have a similar one. ?

A hinge on the lid allows it to fold all the way to 180 degrees so that it can be stored In my dishwasher, it fits on the top rack even if it is the 3 cup version.

What type of stainless steel is used for the basket and stem?

The system works perfectly and is easy to use. It is even possible to remove the basket and stem and reheat the coffee in the pot without spilling.

What are the long-term results of daily use of these for those who own them? Is it okay to use the highest heat setting if the instructions say to do so?

Over the past year, maybe even two, I've had no problems. My electric stove top is the perfect size for it. It has been used outdoors while camping, according to what I read. The material is very sturdy and I'm sure it will last for many years as long as it is used daily.

What kind of filter do you need? Does it need to be done?

There is no need for this. This is not the case. Grounds cannot pass through a suspension solids filter, but you could use one if you were really particular about suspended solids.

Selected User Reviews For GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Steel Percolator Coffee Pot with Silicone Handle for Camping and Backpacking | For Individuals and Groups

I really like this It is well worth the money! It is the best percolator I have ever used! Camping is one of our favorite past times, and usually we go in campgrounds with hookups, but a couple of times we have When I wasn't able to drink coffee, I felt completely lost
5/5

I waited because I wasn't sure I wanted to buy one just yet. A power outage at our house was caused by a storm on the outskirts of town. And that was it, I had decided to purchase The one I selected was the result of my research and evaluation of several options. In addition to that, "- " The basket and all of the rest are made out of heavy gauge stainless steel. It is known that glass ones can crack. Also, I had heard that aluminum coffee makers add a bad taste to your coffee over time. That's why stainless steel was my first choice. Please note In addition to the lid, the basket has a handle! Your coffee will be less likely to have grounds in it as a result. Please note In order to serve my large family at least 12 cups, I wanted to have a 12 cup cup. * This one has a good size and is great for large groups. The fabric is easy to wash and maintain. Luckily, the lid is attached, so I can just wash it with some soap and water and let Please note Specifically, it states how many cups of water should be poured on the outside and the inside. That is very helpful information. Please note

So I had to do some research on how to use a percolator.

It has a silicone handle so you don't burn your hand. After purchasing good coffee at our grocery store and having it ground coarse, I set out to make some coffee. With this solution, you don't have to use a filter in the basket because the coffee itself is big enough. Percolator filters are something I bought to keep on hand just in case I only had finely ground coffee with me. The amount of coffee I used was about 1T scoop per 2 oz It was just a matter of personal It's important to spread the coffee around evenly in the basket. I then put it on medium until I saw it begin to bubble in the glass, then I turned it down to simmer for three to five Keep an eye on the coffee to make sure it doesn't burn. As the percolating slows down, you will notice it. My electric coffee maker did not produce such good coffee as this one did. It was wonderful that my whole house was filled with such a good smell! In case we don't drink all of the coffee right away, I am also going to purchase some kind of warming carafe for it. My recommendation to anyone would be to give this percolator a try! The quality is excellent! It is well worth the money! I'm sure this is the last one I This review will be helpful to you in making your purchase, so please click YES if it has helped. My sincere thanks go out to.

I have a great manual coffee percolator that you should read if you want to learn how to make great coffee
5/5

The lid on the pot is no longer used while percolating as of July 22nd 2020. In addition, remove the top of the basket made of stainless steel. A small Pyrex bowl with a volume of 6 oz was added. There is no better cup of coffee than this. In every drop, every last coffee grind is being in contact with water. Getting that shard out of your coffee cup is just a matter of being careful you do not drink it. If you get burned by the Pyrex it's a sacrifice you'll have to pay in order to get a good It took me two attempts to perfect making a great cup of coffee using this incredible cup (GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Coffee Percolator Cup with Silicone Handle 6 Cup)

After using it twice. I perfected making one. Here is a picture of four heaping tablespoons The Kleenex Tissue has 1 ply. You can't laugh at that! Put an end to this! The program has been used by me for To place a tissue in a basket, poke a hole in the center and push it down into it. Use your 4 heaping tablespoons of coffee and cut around the edge of the filter just like a regular coffee filter. This 6 cup coffee maker makes two 12 oz cups of coffee totaling 24 oz. If you only need one cup, you can do so. Make sure the water you use is cold and not boiled. Don't walk away when you see the water almost coming to a boil and starting to percolate. After you see the water start to boil, turn it down to no. 4 or 5 on most stoves as soon as it starts percolating. The timer will be set for seven I like how it fills the house with that aroma of percolated coffee that alone makes it worth it. You can steep it for 10 minutes to get a stronger cup. Whether you like a hot cup of coffee or a creamer, you can heat your creamer or milk in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds. Don't overheat your creamer or milk. There is a possibility you could use less creamer. I use four tablespoons. We've got dessert. Coffee is on the way. It's impossible to find a better creamer than mate hazelnut. Keep your coffee pot in your sight at all times. The timer should go off when you turn off the burner. Lift the coffee pot and set it to the side. Do not put it back on the stove. We're going to have a hot day. Two hands are required to pour. One hand is held over the lexon as you close the lid with your thumb the other hand pours with the handle and enjoys the beverage. It's not a good idea to reheat coffee in a Putting it on your to-do list will make it more likely that you will inadvertently forget it and ruin your coffee. Make sure that any leftover coffee is reheated in the microwave for a minimum of You will end up with bitter ice cream if you reheat it too hot. Thanks for making this helpful. PercView LEXAN top is excellent, except that it is not adjustable
3/5

The purpose of buying this is to replace a percolator my family has used for camping for most of the last 30 years, with no problems. I had one coffee drinker in the morning, but it was too big for only one. Although I was impressed by the quality and performance of this little 3 cup wonder, there was one thing I didn't like about it The state of In the - I melted the top of the art PercView. Just as I did with the old tried and true method of using the pot near the fire, I had placed it right next to the fire. The top of the tried-and-true pot melted before the coffee had been percolating for a while. At first I was annoyed, but then I saw that they sold replacement GLASS, at which point I got irrationally upset. It's always a good decision to tell your customer when your product has a design flaw that requires an alternate piece to be built, shipped, and sold. It must be quite shocking to find out your product designed to boil water with fire actually gets It's so sad. Thus, I am now buying a second one with a glass top (hopefully it will I'm giving it one star less for using a cheap top and one star less for not being upfront about why the top is cheap.
