Questions & Answers
Yes, it is possible. However, as with any coated pan, you should use it only on lower temperatures because the coating can burn and peel on very hot stoves or fires. You've probably heard about the debate over Teflon-coated pans and how they're being phased out. Just be careful not to sabotage the non-alcoholic beverage. This pan's nonstick properties make it incredibly simple to use and clean.
Since I got this pan, I've only used it to cook over an open fire, and I haven't had any issues. It has a thick bottom and takes a long time to reach cooking temperature. When using this pan, avoid using metal utensils. I let someone else use mine, and they scratched and cut the coating with a metal spatula. It's the perfect size for a group camping trip, and the handle on mine folds inwards, making it easy to hang on the outside of my pack. The handle's plastic coating has lasted so far, but I avoid exposing it to open flame. I believe that if you placed this pan over a roaring fire, the handle coating would be scorched off. Of course, you'd also end up damaging the pan's coating. The best way to cook it is over a good bed of coals.
Induction does not work with nonferrous metals (a magnet will only stick to ferrous metals).
In terms of the type of flame/heat, I believe the skillet is suitable for use on the solo stove. Because I don't own a solo stove, I'm not sure how large the skillet should be in comparison to the size of the stove. This skillet can be used on a propane stove, such as a Coleman, but the wind protectors must be removed in order to center the stove on the burner, as the skillet is too large to do so with the wind protectors up. I hope this has been of assistance.

I liked this pan while it lasted, but it only lasted 10 months before the coating on the inside began to peel. I contacted their support, not sure if it was a manufacturing error or what, and was told they couldn't do anything about a "2 year old pan," despite the fact that I had purchased it less than a year ago. I will not purchase from them again, and I would not recommend them because of their poor customer service.
On the plus side, the teflon nonstick surface is extremely smooth and durable. stick. Unlike some others, which have ridged interiors, this one does not. It cooks well but requires a little more attention due to its light weight. On the negative side - It doesn't appear to be long-lasting because it's so light. And at $30, it's not exactly cheap. The ridged bottom and unsmooth sides make cleaning a little more difficult. Last but not least, there's the handle. It's too flimsy, despite how much I like how it flips inside. Something between the wires is desperately needed to stiffen it up. You can see what I mean if you look at the Walmart brand Ozark, but it's still better than those.
Because of the thickness of the fry pan, it takes a long time to heat it up over a campfire on a grate, especially if you're trying to avoid getting the bottom of the pan too black or too hot (excess heat will damage the nonstick coating). There should be no issues for those who use butane or white gas stoves. This fry pan is ideal for car camping or backpacking for a short day hike. If weight is an issue, and miles of trail are on the horizon, one must decide whether the utility of this fry pan outweighs the additional weight.
So far, I've only used it once, and it's been fantastic. Cooking eggs, sausage, and cheese, as well as cleanup, was a breeze. The fish fry was delicious, and there were no cooking or cleanup issues. Despite the fact that the handle is made of plastic, you might want to put something between it and the ground. I enjoy cooking with my pans, and I try to avoid chipping them as much as possible. To be safe, I'll wrap it in a towel or something similar. br>In terms of weight - It isn't particularly light, but neither is it particularly heavy. It's somewhere in the middle, which means that if you want a nice cooking pan while camping, you'll have to bear the extra weight on the portage.
Nothing sticks to it, and it's very easy to clean. I ordered one for camping and one for home, and now I'm going to get rid of my old pans that I never use and order a third one! GSI did an excellent job.
I bought it for a backpacking trip I'm going on soon. I was planning to buy the Jetboil pan at first, but I read a lot of negative reviews about how bad it was and how it didn't cook evenly. This pan was mentioned by a few reviewers, so I decided to try it out. It's a bit heavy, so work on your leg strength. I've only tried one whole egg and 3/4 cup of egg whites when it comes to cooking eggs. My first attempt took a long time to cook because I was unsure of the heat and kept it as low as possible. Nothing got stuck in this pan, and I mean nothing. I'm excited to put it to use on my upcoming trip.
pan with a stick! Easy clean-up and packability are essential when camping or cooking in the great outdoors. This is a little bigger than I require for myself, but it will suffice for two people. The size and weight of this pan is ideal for 4 people. I've used it a few times now, and as long as you don't scratch the non-stick surface, it works great. This pan will last a long time and is easy to clean, especially if you use rubber spatulas. So far, I'm really enjoying it!.
Pinnacle is a far superior product. I purchased this to compare it to a Pinnacle that I already owned. I gave this Bugaboo away and replaced it with a Pinnacle of the same size, but the Pinnacle's coating is inferior. Spend a little more money on a better pan.
