Questions & Answers

Are there any other differences between this version and the previous one, aside from the side fabric panels being black instead of grey?

The accent fabric has been replaced with a 410D Packcloth from a 600D Packcloth. br>The bottom fabric has been changed from 210D Nylon Double Diamond Ripstop to 410D Packcloth.br>The backpanel has also been changed. Everything is the same, except it now appears to be more open. br>By about a liter (two pairs of socks), the volume has increased slightly. br>Fall colors come in a variety of hues. Instead of gray accents, the accent color is a darker shade of the main color.

What is the volume of the container?

It's 13 liters, according to REI.

Is it possible to fold and pack it?

Get the ultralight stuff pack if you're serious about being foldable. That thing can be rolled up and stored in a very small space. The Daylight has a back panel that makes it more comfortable to wear, but it won't pack as small.

Is it possible to fit a 3-liter water reservoir inside the interior sleeve? (It appears to be paired with a 2 liter bladder in the "frequently bought together" section)?

I believe the maximum intended size is 2 liters, which is what I used and which appears to completely fill the hydration sleeve.

There are many compartments in the front pocket
5/5

This thing has become a source of addiction for me. I'm free to wear it wherever I want - Back home in the West on day hikes or trail runs, and all over New York City. It fits two full Nalgene bottles in the side pockets, and I simply clip the bottles into the side clips through the loops on the lids to avoid the water bottle falling out problem that others have mentioned. My 13-inch Macbook Pro, a book, and a light jacket all fit perfectly in this backpack. It's compact, but it holds a lot more than I anticipated! There are many compartments in the front pocket. Each of my husband and I has one, and we both adore them!.

The quality is excellent, but the fit is strange
3/5

This pack has a lot of great features - The light color (ideal for my tropical climate), the construction quality, and the insulation for keeping drinks cool. The fit, on the other hand, is completely odd. As someone who has used backpacks for 35 years for both work and technical climbing, the fit of this pack is unusual. The crosspiece on the neck digs into my spine (base of the neck) in a way I've never felt before, and it has nothing to do with my body type or gender (I've been fitted successfully for a variety of packs designed for both men and women). I've decided that returning this pack is too expensive (I live in Asia), so I'm going to cut out that crosspiece, seal it with duct tape (the Alaskan solution to every problem), and see if the pack can be used for day hikes.

I bought it specifically for cycling, and it fulfills my requirements admirably
4/5

The bag is incredibly light on its feet. This backpack is fantastic. I bought it specifically for cycling, and it fulfills my requirements admirably. br>br>The bag itself is very light; the only structural padding is on the back and straps; the rest of the bag is made of light but tough material that doesn't hold shape well, so the bag looks wrinkly when not fully packed; however, this is the price you have to pay for a light weight bag. If the bag isn't completely packed, the adjustable buckle straps can be shortened to give it a more defined shape, which actually works quite well. With two compartments, the bag has a lot of capacity. a larger one with a sleeve for a small laptop (14 inches and under), and a smaller one with a key fob and some netted partitions br>br>There are oddly shaped side nets on the bag that can be used to hold water bottles and other items. They're meant to be easily accessible by hand while wearing the bag, not for water bottles. because there's a hydration pack pouch in the bag On rides, I've kept my phones, power bank, and travel charger in the nets. It's a little difficult, but not impossible, to fit a taller water bottle in them. It also has chest and hip straps that can be removed if you don't need them. br>br>The back of the bag is extremely sweat-resistant. It's made of foam and netting, which doesn't absorb sweat and dries quickly. The straps are also made of a porous netting (almost see-through), allowing sweat to evaporate quickly. br>br>My only complaint is the way the top straps are set up. When I tighten the shoulder straps, the top part where the straps meet cuts into the back of my neck. The obvious solution is to loosen the straps so that the bag hangs a little lower, but I prefer to wear my backpacks high on my back so that they don't rub against my trouser belt; however, this is a minor issue that is dependent on how your shoulders are shaped and how high you like to wear your backpacks.

I really wanted to like this backpack, but it has some drawbacks
3/5

I really wanted to like this backpack, but it has some drawbacks. It's a good size, but it's a pain to get things in and out of it. It's top-heavy, especially if you stuff something into the front pouch. Things don't seem to settle down at the bottom and instead seem to be pushed up to the top. Also, never use the side mesh for water bottles; even the slightest movement will cause your bottle to fall out. I still like it for hiking because it has room for a camel pack, so I can carry water in it, and I can store a few miscellaneous items as well as a light jacket inside the backpack, but it's not a very versatile backpack. I wore it in the city while visiting Paris and London, and it was fine. I wish I could have stored a water bottle in the side mesh, and I wish I could have packed my belongings more comfortably into the pack without it feeling so lopsided. Because it is still a sturdy and well-made pack, I plan to keep it and use it for daytime travel. It's just not as practical as the majority of Osprey items.

I'd rate it higher if I had the option
5/5

I waited a long time to order this pack, and I'm so glad I did. I've never had a more comfortable day pack than this one. It's a simple pack, but it meets all of the owner's needs without overwhelming him with 5,000 pockets. The adjustable chest strap is another feature that contributes to its comfort. I have a lot of trouble getting chest straps to fit right under my neck because I'm a short little shorty, so I was ecstatic to see it actually fit me. br>The pack has plenty of room and, as previously stated, it does have some pockets, but not an excessive number. I also like the key clip on the front inside pocket because no one enjoys getting back to their car after a long hike only to have a panic attack because they can't find their keys right away. I also like the fact that there's room for a hydration bladder and that both sides have bottle holders. br>As for the pack's actual construction, it's very well done and exactly what you'd expect from Osprey. When closed, a flap of the pack's exterior material covers the zippers, which are smooth and have large, durable pulls. The straps and back of the pack are both well padded and breathable. br>To sum it up, I would buy this pack again in a heartbeat. Any adventurer should have a good day pack, and this is one of the best.
