Questions & Answers
The 2 liter hydration bladder does not have a plastic taste. I purchased two of them and am pleased with them. I recommend thoroughly rinsing them in salt water before using.
I'd say no because it's difficult for me to open. A 5- Teeth would be used to open it by a 7-year-old child. That's something I've been known to do as well!
It was packaged in a clear plastic bag that was sealed. I suppose you could recycle it by using the plastic bag for something else.
Water would leak out the sides because the lid was not secure. It was like this when I first filled it up, so I never used it.

Because the opening is smaller than most, cleaning and drying it completely is more difficult. Normally, I am able to dry them by turning them inside out, but not this time. br>In addition, the hose is attached to the bag, making cleaning and configuring the hose in my backpack much more difficult.
Other bladders do not have end pieces that come off in this manner, posing a choking hazard.
The first one arrived with a leak and had to be replaced. I asked for a replacement and got it the next day! Pros- It's small, light, and inexpensive. br>Cons- It's difficult to fill (without having to take it out of my pack completely). I'm not sure how well it will hold up during my 6-month backpacking trip, and I don't like the mouthpiece because the cover won't fit through the straps on my pack.
I've taken this on several hikes recently and have had no problems with it! It's the perfect size for my smaller hiking backpack, and it fits in the laptop compartment. In the back zipper, there is a type pouch. Filling it up with water is also made easier by the handle. I'd recommend getting a larger size if you need a lot of water, but for our 6-person family, this was plenty. In the midst of summer, I went for a mile hike.
The end result was fantastic. I needed something quick for a trip to the Rocky National Park, and this fit the bill perfectly. My only issue was the bad rubber taste; no matter how many times I washed it, the water still tasted bad, and I didn't want to drink from it unless I had to.
The bladder is holding up well with no leaks, but the dispenser tip s aren't my favorite; it doesn't serve water as well as other bladders I've tried.
My only criticism of this product is that the screw cap does not close/seal tightly, allowing water to leak when the container is filled to capacity of 2L. I've used it with 1 inch of water below the cap. 5L) and it didn't leak, but that defeats the purpose of the backpack for longer hikes. Please keep in mind that even if the pack isn't completely full, it will leak if it isn't kept upright.
I only climbed one mountain with it, and by the time I reached the peak, it was leaking. Get a name brand one for a little more money.
