Quality is uncertain in the long run. I forgot to clean out the tube in my JanSport hydration pack, so it was full of nasty green "stuff. " Because I couldn't find my tube brush, this was a cost-effective alternative. I gave it three stars because the brush appears to be fine, but the tubing is 38" long instead of the original's 42" length. There are no markings on the tubing that indicate what material it is made of - The JanSport tube, for example, reads "Nalgene" and is made in the United States, whereas my Camelback tubing reads "Pureflow" and is made in the United States. Granted, the description says 20"100 free of BPA, bps and bpf" - It's just that the tube itself isn't labeled with this information. In addition, the new tubing is less pliable and has a slightly smaller diameter - preventing the new tube from passing through all of the end pieces' barbs.
For my Camelbak, this is the ideal replacement tube.
The bag is an older model, so it may be the correct size for newer models. Because it came with a brush, I chose it over the Camelbak-branded tube. It's fine with the brush.
We were cleaning out the old tubes when the brush popped off the stem and became stuck inside the tube as we were pulling it back out. Lame.
Tube tainted my water and made it taste bad. I washed it several times and even soaked it in vinegar and baking soda, but it didn't improve.
Overall - For your camel back, this is an excellent retrofit unit. My age was 7 at the time. This is an excellent update for someone who is eight years old.
For a replacement hose, this was the best deal I could find. I'll go with spring. When the loaded pipe cleaner popped out of the package, it scared the living daylights out of me. I was able to connect the hose without difficulty by soaking the ends in hot water.
The cleaning device is incredible! I highly recommend it! 👍.
