It's supple and adaptable. Last year, I went elk hunting with mine. It's a fantastic bladder for holding water. I felt good about it.
It's made of BPA-free plastic, according to the website. and PVC- construction that is completely free With my pack, I really enjoy using this bag. Plastic material that is very pliable but also very durable.
There isn't a trace of plastic in the aftertaste.

Unfortunately, the package I received did not match the description or the one shown in the photo. Some important features, such as the 3-D model, are missing. The part on the tube that I believe is the part that prevents backwash and air from entering the tube, as well as the way articulating bit valve (the one I received is fixed). Those features were something I was looking forward to, so I was disappointed when they weren't included in the package I received. After doing some research, I discovered that this hydration pack's model number on other sites is 7730015, whereas this one's model number is 7730011. It appears to be an older version of the same pack. The newer pack shown in the photos and description is not the one you'll get if you order this item. I gave it two stars because my husband kept it to use with his Alps backpack (he doesn't mind the articulating bit valve), but I ordered a new one from somewhere else. I wanted to write this review to let others know what they'll get if they order this product, and I've included photos of the pack I received to show the differences.
Just before I left for my Philmont trek, the bite valve stopped working for me. I got a replacement bite valve (literally 15 minutes before we left for our first campsite) and the unit's quick connect valve stopped working on the second day. I was fortunate enough to be able to use it as a dromedary, but not for the intended purpose. Then, on the fourth day, the other unit's quick connect valve broke as well. I didn't have time to figure out what was wrong, so I had to go to the commissary and buy two new bladders. It receives two stars because the units do not leak and can transport 3L of water, indicating that I have yet to find a use for them.
Over the weekend, I finally put this product to the test, and the hanging weight from the bladder, which I only ever filled half way, was enough to tear out the holes from which it hangs. Very poor quality; it broke after only holding half the weight of water it was designed to hold.
The ideal substitute.
After trudging through the woods, it holds enough water to drink and has no leaks. It accomplishes the task at hand. Enough water for a full day of sitting, which is exactly what I prefer.
Happy.
This product leaked as soon as it was filled with water. It's too bad I didn't make it back in time. Unfortunately, I did not get out hiking quickly enough after making the purchase. Purchasing is not recommended.
It's fantastic.
