Questions & Answers

What is the best way to install the cable so that it has the least amount of wobble?

I'm not sure why Swagman refuses to respond to these questions. The cable has no bearing on the anti-wobble function. the anti- The bolt is tightened to create wobble, and the cable serves as a security measure. It's a fantastic item.

What do you do with the cable when you're not using it? I see where one end of the loop goes on the locking pin, but where does the other end of the loop go?

Place the cable around the bike pass with the end that the locking pin goes through the loop through the loop, then the locking pin through the reinforced end of the cable and connect it to your hitch.

Is this something that works? Do you have this bike rack that you recently purchased?

Ours was only recently used on a trip to Georgia. That's a round trip of 850 miles. Our bikes rode very safely, and the lock means they'll have to steal the entire car if they want to steal it! This is something I strongly suggest you do.

The Anti Wabble was already purchased. Is it possible to buy the cable separately?

E-commerce is the only place where you can get the cable. trailer. com (800- 298- S2005 (8924) is a $7 part. 69 + $6. By USPS snail mail, shipping costs are 99 cents.

The post on the hitch lock is excessively long, and the key is excessively large
3/5

The bike rack is fine, but the manufacturer should work on the minor details. In tight spaces, they make it difficult to use the locking cable hitch pin (sold separately). The pin is, first and foremost, excessively long. After the pin has been screwed and tightened down, you must insert the key into the end of the pin. And it's under your car's bumper, which is a very tight space in my case. Second, they make their key the fattest thing on the key chain, and as RV owners, we already have too many bleeping keys. Third, they make their key the fattest thing on the key chain, and they make their key the fattest thing on the key chain, and they make their key the fattest thing on the key chain, and they make their key the fattest thing on the key chain, and they make their key the fattest thing on the key chain, and they make their key the fattest thing on the Why not be considerate of others and make a standard flat key instead of a plastic knob that is too wide? Because the metal does not pass through it, you cannot simply cut it away. Guys (manufacturer), you need to mix and match your own gear with a lot of other stuff.

This is a must-have accessory for your bike rack
5/5

I was worried about leaving my pricey bicycles on an unattended bike rack. This works great for locking my bikes and allowing me to leave my SUV with the bikes on the back for an hour or so. The bikes are much more difficult to steal with this cable and lock in place. When there are two bikes on the rack, it's difficult to get to the locking mechanism, as others have mentioned. To get to the lock, you'll have to kneel on the ground and stretch. Aside from that, the product is fantastic.

I would have preferred that the order be delivered as shown on the website
3/5

The hitch pin and lock shown in the picture and described in the words do not match the ones I received. Instead of a barrel lock, the locking end has a KEY, and the lock opening is on a black plastic end. It's difficult to see the key's sliding opening - It's something you'll have to get a sense of. It has a metal end that locks on the hitch pin in the picture, and the barrel lock opening is on the side of the hitch pin, making it easier to see and access. I would have preferred that the order be delivered as shown on the website.

It does a fantastic job of keeping my bike and bike rack secure
5/5

It does a fantastic job of keeping my bike and bike rack secure. Depending on how low your hitch is, it might be difficult to get to. To lock and unlock this, I have to get down on the ground. Unlike the photo, this is done with a regular key rather than the round one. To use, simply use a 19mm socket to screw the bolt and washer into the hitch. Do not, as one user appears to have done, run the cable through the bolt. To secure your bike, run the looped end through your tire and frame, then through the loop with the metal eye, then over the end of the hitch pin and attach the lock.

The wrong thread was used to manufacture the hitch pin bolt
3/5

The concept, idea, and design are all fantastic; it's the manufacturing and inspection of the threaded bolt pin that fell short. The bolt pin wouldn't thread into the bicycle rack, so I checked it with my thread gauges and discovered that the threads in the hitch were 1/2x13, which is a SAE standard, and the threads on the bolt were 1/2x13, which is a SAE standard. The pins were 1/2x12, which I had never heard of before. For the past 20 years, I've worked in tool and die design and production, and I've never seen a 1/2x12 thread. I couldn't return it because I didn't have the time, so I had a new pin made for it. Most customers of this part would have had to return it and hope that the next one was correct; it was something that should have been caught by inspection, and I'm curious how many were made before it was discovered.

A standard hitch will not accommodate the threaded pin
3/5

The thread pitch on the 1/2" threaded pin appears to be unusual. It will not fit in either of my two standard hitches. On the packaging, there is no mention of this strange thread pitch. In fact, it claims to fit all Class 1 and 2 universal hitches on the packaging. This is not the case. Beware. Furthermore, the pin appears to be made of low-cost metal that has been chrome-plated. The lock and cable are fine, but they're useless if they don't fit anything. I'll be returning it for a refund.

Has stood the test of time
5/5

On a trip from Florida to the west coast and back, I used this to secure our bikes. Anti-theft device and lock My only complaint is that unlocking it requires holding the lock while turning the key, which is difficult when laying beneath a bike rack on the back of an RV. It's not a major issue, but it is my one and only gripe.
