I've never had a bumper attached to it - Always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, never I get two 11s. This is a great way to use 5 foot paddle boards.
Yes, it is possible to close a car door without difficulty.
Neoprene is used to cover the buckle.
I'm not sure what you're talking about, but there's a light foam padding that slides over the metal buckles and covers them. There is a rubber pad on the underside of the metal buckle that protects your kayak or board from the metal buckle.

These were purchased to help me transport my kayak on top of my car using roof rack cross bars. It's extremely simple and safe. br>br>*If this is your first time, start by holding the buckle end on one side and sending the strap across the boat, under the cross bar, and back across the boat. Thread through the buckle from under the near side of the crossbar (where you are). (The buckle should be set up so that the empty side, which you'll be threading the strap through, is on the bottom and the attached side is on the top. ) The strap should now run under the crossbars on both sides of the boat and lay flat across the boat twice, going and coming. ) Take a step back - hard - to tighten everything up, and there you have it! Do the same thing with the second bar, and you're good to go!
br>It takes me less than 5 minutes to load my boat into my car and get it ready to go. STRONG winds blew to and from the coast of North Carolina, causing the boat to be held tight. Each way is a 5-hour drive. There will be no issues.
The rope itself is of good quality and durability. The stitching on one of the buckle covers unraveled, so I deducted a star.
For a roof-mounted kayak, I like the longer length. They're simple to toss or walk around the car over the boat with. When passing back and forth over the car, the padded buckle is a huge plus.
Overall, this is a good, sturdy strap. These were purchased to be used in the transportation of a kayak. They're a sturdy heavy-duty strap, but the padded cover concept could use some work. I put my kayak on my roof rack and tied it down with these straps to make sure they worked, only to discover that the top of the neoprene cover is coming undone? I was dissatisfied with this, and I didn't even have it on the road. If you want padded straps, you'll probably only need them at the bottom, under the cam buckle.
The ties are extremely durable, and the buckle is of excellent quality. Rubber protectors came with my buckle, which are almost as durable as leather. What a fantastic purchase!.
These were purchased as a means of securing kayaks to the roof of a vehicle. They're thick and good-looking. They've kept our kayaks safe for more than ten hours of driving at 70 mph. They did stretch a little after getting wet while driving in the rain and needed to be tightened. We came to a halt a few times at 15-minute intervals until we were confident that they were secure. After that, everything went back to normal.
These are what I use to secure three kayaks to the roof of my car. These Malone straps are fantastic, and the cam buckle is protected by a rubberized cover to prevent damage.
I'm glad the kayaks didn't fly off before I pulled over because they came loose very easily and scratched my new car. I wouldn't recommend it.
