The rack is going to protrude 12 inches from the wall. The diameter of the bar is 1.25 inches when measured from the vehicle's side (including the bar and rubber bumpers). 25". Mahalo,

How long are the rack rods and what is their diameter? If I want to use S hooks with it, I'll have to do so. ?

The S hook must have a larger opening than 1"; a 1 1/4" opening is ideal.

Genius! I'm not sure I'll use it on my car, but I needed an alternative to a flimsy drying rack that would rust over time

I surf with my two kids in Northern California all year, and we always have multiple wetsuits drying in the house. This is hung on a towel rack in our laundry room, and it allows me to dry a suit out of the way rather than hanging it by the shoulders. Love it. We may try it on the car in the future, but for now, we love it as a laundry room drying rack option.

The plastic arms, on the other hand, were propped up against the door. It hasn't caused any damage to the vehicle. In addition, because my car is low to the ground, a few inches of my wetsuit fell to the ground while being hung from the rack. It would be better suited to a vehicle with more ground clearance and no curvature in the door below the mirror.

However, the price is exorbitant. I use it to dry my wetsuits, towels, and other items, and it works flawlessly. I only gave it four stars because I thought it was a little too expensive for what it was.

When you're on the road, especially if you're living out of your car, it's a good idea to have a clutch way to dry your belongings. After surfing, I use it to aid in the drying of my wetsuit and towel. When I'm living out of my Tacoma, this is the best option.
