Solid brass is used in the winder. a school near the ocean, and they will all start to rust and pit after a while. We remove the cranks, and keep them away from bright lights, as this helps keep them cleaner, but also makes the nets more vulnerable to vandals and students.
The classic round net posts from Edwards are made of 11 gauge steel and are 3 inches in diameter. Two 7/8" wide by two and a half inches long. A full set of cap and pin/lap devices, 2 5/16" hooks welded to anchor end, internal brass winder with 3 14" brass pulley, worm gear will not recoil, removable handle, and aluminum caps with stainless steel fixing pins. This is what we got.
The handles on other posts that we bought from a reputable tennis supply company broke just 6 months after we purchased them. There is simply nothing like this one in terms of look or It is a very well-made handle made of solid brass that is smooth and solid. There is a smooth wheel for installing the net on the cable that is easy to install. A very professional look is given to our tennis court by this installation. The rest of our 6 courts will be upgraded in the near future.
