Using the same bolt for two years, the bolt just slides out. . . . The clamp, which can be purchased for under $15, is pretty good. I bought it about two years ago and have strung close to 50 rackets with it. Recent failure of the clamp has resulted in the clamp torn. Due to disintegration of the bolt that is holding the handles together, the handles are unusable. The clamp disassembled, but I managed to put it back together once I noticed the problem, but I have to be careful with it so the bolt won't slide off when I use it.
This clamp seems to be of good quality. It would be nice if it came with some instruction.
As far as I know, this clamp doesn't Each time the string slips, it must be returned.
The clamp is pretty good but I would give it five stars but it's quite expensive for a small.
I liked the product. All was well. I liked the.
Even on poly, there is no slippage. I was not expecting this starting clamp to work so well. It didn't have diamond dusted jaws, like the much more expensive Babolat starting clamp, so I was worried that it might slip on poly strings, due to its lack of diamond dusted jaws. The ring is not slippery. Where slippage is an issue with this clamp on string, the key is to place the string as close to the inside of the jaws as possible, where you will get the strongest grip. If you wish to avoid further damage to more delicate strings by using this much force (test a piece first before you do the rest), you might position the string farther.
