I had never used them before and was expecting cheap and disappointing items, where the lights wouldn't work and the weight and balance of the birdie would be faulty. Although the lights were on, I was not sure if it would be possible to play in the dark.

Although I think it is pretty durable, I would not call it the strongest. It is likely that you will wear this out in one game if you are an experienced player. It was pretty clear after one full game that the edges were pretty much tarnished. The majority of my time was spent blocking and retaliating. A second one was provided to my niece and nephew, and they organized just one I like the way it works and the light comes on. If you played with these shuttlecocks in the dark, it would be a nightmare. Shuttlecocks made from plastic are somewhat less durable and less fluid than those made from feathers. I will say, however, it is a rather fun little gadget that lights up various As well, it is very easy to see, and I feel it would be great to have for teaching purposes I put the shuttlecocks in front of my niece and nephew so they could see them more easily. The kids were playing with this before it got dark, and when it came time to turn it on half of the lights didn't turn on. Some of them did turn on intermittently when you hit them. As soon as you hit it, it would light up or shut off. Although the birds were pretty, the quality of the light might be an issue with the birds.
