It happened to me as well, and they replaced it. If you emailed them, make sure they aren't spam. They reply using a spam account for some reason.
They're staked into the ground in a similar manner to tent poles. Two ropes are attached to the top of each pole, with the other end of the ropes being staked into the ground. The poles are held in place by the ropes' tension and the net. We've had our net up all summer and haven't had any problems with it becoming loose or falling down.
I haven't tried it yet, but if you have the space, it's probably a good idea. It's a standard-sized design.
With two people, it will take 20 minutes. We set it up twice a week and have had no problems; it replaced an older one that took about 10 minutes to set up because it was inexpensive; The extra time is to accommodate the ground straps, which our previous vehicle lacked.

Compared to the net I had, this one is a little more difficult to set up. I gave it a four-star rating for the following reasons: If there was a spike to put in the ground under the poles, it would be easier to set up. The crank handle does not lock in place, but once tightened, it can be placed beside the net. The bag could be a little bigger to accommodate all of the items, but everything fits. br>We use this net twice a week in our neighborhood park, putting it up and taking it down each time. The net is excellent, far superior to the Wilson that I previously owned. Only time will tell how long it lasts, but it appears to be years. This one and all of the pieces that come with it are unbeatable for the price.
It's a big hit with my grandkids. Another parent in the neighborhood inquired as to where I got it! For her daughter, they've placed an order.
Patiassy wasn't the cheapest option, but it appeared to be a good cost-benefit tradeoff in the end. With the support of the guide ropes, the net appears to be very sturdy, and the tension adjuster (crank) aids in straightening it. We've played a few times already, and the setup, including the line strip (60x30ft rectangle), has held up well. Of course, we don't think Argentina will be able to hold its own. Men's level of play in Russia, but it looks fantastic for backyard entertainment. br>On the negative side, the crank handle does not stay in place, which isn't a big deal (since the tension is locked), but it will be if the handle is lost. The Air Pump and Ball are "freebies," so don't expect Mikasa or Pro quality. One of the air-conditioning units, in fact, is a Pump needles broke on the first play, and it appears that the ball (which is smaller than regulation) will not last much longer. br>Overall, it's a great buy, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for some backyard fun.
We started putting it together and immediately ran into issues. This kit was missing the hand crank, so we're already short on supplies. To keep the net from sagging, we needed to use a crescent wrench to apply tension. There was a hole in the middle of the net as soon as it was put up! For the love of God, this is a brand new internet! Even when the net is taut on the top end, there is no support on the bottom end to keep the net from flapping around. This kit did not meet my expectations in terms of quality or workmanship, and it was not worth the money! As a result, we intend to return this kit as soon as we can. You'd think that the old adage holds true: you get what you pay for, but this kit isn't even close! Be wary of buyers!.
For the price, I would have expected a little more sturdiness, but it's still a decent product.
This was purchased as a Christmas present for our granddaughters, both of whom participate in organized volleyball. They use the system several times a week to sharpen their skills because it is set up to regulation size and is relatively simple to set up. So far, it's performed admirably.
This is what my daughter takes to the park with her friends to play with. Setup and dismantling are a breeze. She is capable of putting it together on her own.
