This bat is actually a lot smaller than you might think. It has the appearance of a foam-covered plastic pole. I bought it as a gift for a friend's son and was surprised by how small it was, especially since my daughter already had one. To use it effectively, a toddler's eye-hand coordination must be phenomenal. When I returned it, I received the following warning: IT CANNOT BE RETURNED! Nowhere in the description does it say that! Purchase the Little Tikes Bat, or something similar, to save money.

I bought it for my grandson, who is just starting to learn after T ball. He'll be fine with the bat and balls. He is 4. The size and weight are ideal. I did a lot of research on bats and balls and decided that this was an excellent value and the perfect set for a small child who was just starting out.

Bat is noticeably underweight. A child's ability to hit balls is almost non-existent. It doesn't even come close to resembling the dimensions of a real bat.
