I've never seen the coaches use a pitching machine of any kind. These balls are too light and hollow to be useful.
They resemble a golf ball in size.
These softballs are the same size as 11-inch softballs.
The Amazon page for all three sizes is the same. The ones that are the size of a baseball have alternating triangular and slotted holes (much like a wiffle ball). Only triangular holes are present in golf and softball-sized balls. For hitting practice, I use both baseball and golf ball size balls.

These balls are adored by ballers of all levels, from A to AAA. The following are the advantages and disadvantages for people of various ages: br>br>Durability: br>br>Affordability: br>br>Afford br>I've never seen a practice ball survive as much abuse as these did. From light hitters to ball-destroyers, we have it all. In comparison to standard plastic training baseballs/wiffle balls, these balls have yet to show any signs of wear. We still have dozens of plastic ball halves that we've glued together with various glues to keep them together for longer periods of time. Those, on the other hand, were tossed into the recycling bin after only a week of use, despite the fact that they had been freshly delivered. These will outlast the $8/dozen by a long shot at $20 per dozen. We've already spent over $100 on the low-cost plastic, which includes the heavy-duty versions. br>br>Impact feedback: I should have invested in these first. br>br> br>Amazing feedback on the impact. Unlike the cheaper plastic, these collapsed under impact, allowing for a longer period of kinetic transfer from bat to ball and a much greater impact feedback of where the bat made contact with the ball and how much energy was transferred. The first 50 times they hit the balls, everyone was blown away and amazed. The loudness of the stronger impacts continues to bring huge smiles to those who understand the value of immediate impact feedback. br>br>Distance between points: br>br>Distance between points: br>br> br>The harder you hit, the shorter the distance traveled by the balls. It was a hoot to see T-. 8-ballers and minor league 8-ballers and minor league 8-ballers and minor league years old slammed the balls and launched them over 80 feet, whereas the AAs and AAAs' most powerful impacts, which produced thunderous sounds, only managed to launch the balls 30 feet. As a result, the more powerful you hit, the less time you'll need to run and collect the balls. br>br>Impact pain: br>br>Impact pain is a type of pain that occurs when something has an br>I can't say that getting hit by these balls is any less painful than getting hit by stiffer plastic balls. These impact balls, on the other hand, do not bounce far once they hit you, leaving only a small red mark. Stiff plastic balls bounce far away from you, leaving nice dark circle marks. If you get hit by these balls, there's no need to travel far. Colors: br>br> br>What is the significance of the color black? What is the significance of this dark yellow color? I understand if we're practicing on a brightly lit day, but I'd rather have a nice dark red on a bright yellow/orange background so we can retrieve them more quickly. If the balls' yellow surface is on the bottom, it's extremely difficult to find them in bushes, tall grasses, and shadowy areas. Because of the color scheme issue, it took us a long time to collect them all. br>br>Weight: x x x x x x x x x x br>The weight of these balls appeals to us, the coaches and pitchers. Unlike the cheap stiff plastic balls, they aren't so light that they are difficult to throw in a light breeze (8mph). They're perfect for throwing in the wind, with just the right amount of weight to ensure that the throw is accurate enough to put them in the strike zone exactly where you want them. I can throw both left and right handed, which makes my pitches a lot easier, especially for small 5-inch pitches. T-years-old ballers. Even if I have to pay an extra $5 for the plastic used, an ounce heavier should suffice. br>br>Size:br>I don't have anything negative to say. Perfect for all sizes of pitchers. However, if SKLZ can make these balls the size of golf balls, I'll gladly buy ten dozen of them. I want these balls to have positive attributes in smaller sizes so that players can practice batting accuracy and focus. Overall impression: br>br> br>I'll never buy the less expensive stiff plastics again, even if they're on sale for $3 per dozen. I wish SKLZ could offer a more vibrant color palette, heavier balls, and smaller sizes.
Just take a look at the picture, it's been 5 months. I simply tossed them in the yard like a whiffle ball, and they quickly warped. I purchased two packs, and almost all of them appear to be in this condition. Because the one-month period has passed, a refund is no longer possible. I would avoid these balls at all costs. As soon as I noticed a couple of them were warped, I should have immediately refunded them. br>br>Essentially, the black side melts very easily, warping the entire ball.
These mini balls work great in the Louisville Slugger UPM 45 Blue Flame Pitching Machine (I set the machine to 5 for fly balls, 4 on the handle, and 8 on the speed, and position the machine about 43 feet from home plate), and they're great for improving hand-eye coordination in a young kid so he can make contact and avoid strikeouts. I have 96 of them and can use them to give my 8-year-old son a long round of batting practice. He bats with the skillz skinny bat (both the heavy black 30 oz version and the white 12 oz version - see below). Begin with the heavy bat, then switch to the light bat as he becomes tired). It has a significant impact on hand-eye coordination. You can make contact with regulation size baseballs with a real bat all day and never strike out if you can hit mini balls with a skinny bat. At first, it will be very difficult, and the kid might make contact with only 5 to 10 of the balls, but he will quickly get the hang of it and start making contact with%.
I like the idea of putting these balls in practice for my little leaguers - They have to keep their eyes on the ball because it forces them to do so. The balls are of good quality, with a collapsible design that limits flight distance and can withstand being hit by baseball bats. The color scheme is a major flaw. The SKLZ company colors, I understand, are black and white. However, those colors aren't appropriate for this product. On a grass field, they're extremely difficult to locate if they land black side up. If there are any dandelions on the field, the balls will land with the yellow side up. SKLZ - Change the colors, or add a new one - I painted the black side with orange paint - I'll buy more after practice to replace the ones I couldn't find, and I'll look for alternatives until then.
I serve as the President of a large travel baseball organization in the Chicago suburbs. These wiffles are used by all of our younger travel teams, ranging from 8u to 13u. They're fantastic! It's far superior to any other type of wiffle on the market. Each year, we've gone through a wide variety of wiffles. For all of our teams, we routinely order over 100 per year. We no longer have to replace wiffle balls every year now that we use these SKLZ wiffles. They're incredible!.
If you have a decent yard, these are awesome and weigh almost nothing compared to the weighted ones I have. Both are great for batting practice in town with houses so close together. They took about ten minutes to complete. My 9-year-old's hitting distance is 15 feet. I hit with a one-handed swing at about half strength (I'm 5'10" and weigh 120 pounds). Remember that older children and adults may be able to go further.
1) You won't break a window in the yard playing ball with these [my gf despises it when I pitch to my tween daughter and she bangs them off the house, but she knows the windows are safe]. The house will not be harmed]br>2) They are long lastingbr>3) The only drawbacks are: () windy days () so light that the bat doesn't react properly on contact (hence most kids will be able to follow through and drive the ball to their respective strongside rather than hitting to the opposite field), but this isn't worth lowering the rating because the primary purpose of these balls is safety and swinging away:.
