Having a daughter who plays for an elite travel team at 14 years old is great. Many girls in my sports groups have purchased Wilson gloves at similar or higher prices over the years, and I always notice that they take They just don't seem as sticky as Rawlings gloves, even after they've been broken in. Any Rawlings glove I have bought for her or me always seemed to be higher quality leather than Wilson and broke in much faster (just my 2 My mother is the one who has ever purchased the most expensive glove for herself, not because I am cheap, but as a result of my personal belief that the glove does not make The glove is still amazing regardless of what it is. After using Wilson Premium Glove Oil (the best to the best of both my daughter and I's knowledge) and giving it some hard work (with my help), my daughter was able to break it in to her liking. Her first impression was that it worked extremely well for her during a practice session (one level lower than her last glove). After a few days of breaking in the leather, the pocket is nice and deep for a 12" ball, and the leather is malleable enough for a 12 year old to be able to squeeze it This glove has given her a lot of confidence on defense, and for the price, it has been a great purchase.
Gloves like this are good for children under 12 years of age, but do not hold up as well as gloves for children who throw harder than that. I bought a fastpitch 1st base glove for my daughter and even before it was broken in, she told me that the ball hurt her hand. In the case of brand new first base gloves, that shouldn't happen. According to my check, the padding on this glove is very minimal. I would say she is an AAU player with quite a bit of skill who can catch the ball in the right place at a high level. In comparison with other 1st base gloves, this one does not have much padding. It is a good price for a starting glove, but not quite to the level of the more expensive Go for a better model if you want your glove to last through high school. I think that if you wish to learn a glove at an early age, this would be a great glove.
As far as her gloves are concerned, my daughter is pretty stubborn. There is no doubt that this one is ready to play. Minimal to no damage to the vehicle. As soon as we begin using it, I'll keep you posted. California has been experiencing heavy rain. Everything seems to be going well so far. I have no idea how long it will.
I like the glove, but it has to be said that it is advertised as a youth glove, which is more suited to adults. My daughter is already 11 and about 5'1, so her hands are quite small. Despite the fact that we broke it in the pocket, it is too large for her to In addition, it was rated 12 by them. Approximately 5 inches. It fits like a 13 depending on how hard you work with it. My only option was to search for a first base glove designed exclusively for women.
This glove is loved by my daughter (and by all her teammates) who plays in college. With her smaller hand, the wrist tightening system is excellent (compared to the velcro used by others) and the shifting of the fingers is a great idea. Due to tearing out the pocket in our previous gloves, we opted for the stronger pocket. There was a small complaint by the customer because there was no natural blonde color, but she still likes it.
The set comes partially broken in, but there is some work left to do. In just a couple of weeks after oiling it well, wrapping it, and using it through high school, it is really shaping up well. The catching coach commented that it is a great glove for a developing 12U to use up to the age of 18.
I don't know if anything else needs to be added to Rawlins. Buying this glove for my daughter was a nice surprise. The size of which is too large I'll be able to make it happen. This is not for young people. An adult would benefit more from this.
It's not a glove intended for adults.
