It should be fine, I don't see any reason not to. My knowledge of engraving is limited, but I would like to think that this material would be durable and look nice.

The fact of the matter is the fact of the matter. Aluminum is lightweight, cheap, and strong. Only thing negative with the color is that it does get on your hands sometimes.
