Are they hollow or solid?

Solid wood, to be sure.

How well do these perform when practicing on asphalt or uneven ground?

They work on anything flat, the balls aren't perfectly round like other brands I've bought from, but they work well for short hair carpet and surfaces alike, and I doubt you'll ruin your stick blade with them!

Can they be used on rugs or other interior floors without damaging them, or are they only for use outside?

The balls themselves are safe to use on any interior surfaces, but the tape on your stick may be a little sticky and leave a small amount of glue behind.

Excellent work!! At the very least, use it once a day! It has a better feel than a regular street hockey ball. Furthermore, it sounds as if you're hitting a puck! I would strongly suggest it. When you have some spare time, use this inexpensive training tool around the house!.

It's far too small and light for me

These aren't suitable for use as training balls. They're far too small and light to be mistaken for pucks. They also pass through the net without a hitch. It also doesn't help that it's made of wood: There are far better alternatives to chips, cracks, and other flaws.
