Is it possible to use this for full-contact stick combat?

I'm not sure what I'm saying. We use padded sticks to make these. For full contact, I'm guessing you'd need more padding.

For the large, what is the average head size? I'm planning on getting one for my local saber legion (lightsaber combat) group, so?

My head is 23 years old. At 5" across the brow, it's a good fit. However, there is still space for more. It's possible to bend the back piece in and out. It's great that the liner can be removed, especially if the helmet will be shared.

During the summers, my wife and I train in longsword and scottish claymore. My cranium is much bigger than yours. Is there a way to adjust the fencing mask?

Yes, that is correct.

Is there any protection for the back of the head on this?

There is no back of head protection, but there is enough rear coverage to keep it secure.

Overall, it's not a bad mask, and I like that you can wash the liner, but for the price listed here, you could almost buy two af masks that have the same newton rating and, in my opinion, are more durable because they have a rubber band around the face mesh that is virtually impossible to damage through regular use, whereas this mask has a fabric one.
