Questions & Answers
The size of the ball is comparable to that of a tennis ball. It's an excellent ball to catch against a concrete wall.
There are six balls in this package.
I gave the balls to someone as a present.
Yes, I bought them for that reason. I did, however, put them in an old sock because I was concerned that the writing on them would rub off. I don't think it would have rubbed off, but just in case, I keep them in the socks.

The weight of the balls varies. After ten minutes, the balls start to rip. 15 oversbr>Most balls are 126 gm and only a few are 158 gmsbr>Imagine how much money the manufacturer saves by reducing weight. br>br>Whereas Nivia claims it to be 145 gms / - (Pack Of 6 Balls) 5 g For our tournament, it is a complete waste of money.
Update - I took a star off because I ordered green balls and received much lighter balls than the heavy green balls we already have; however, the red balls are still good. They should be slightly heavier than light tennis balls, according to green ones.
- br>They're quite good. We were tossing around nivia balls, which were thick and red. We switched to these because of the low visibility in the early mornings in the Seattle area during the winter. These are a little lighter and bounce a little less than the red ones. But, in general, these are quite good. Every week, we play somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. I've been using two balls for the past four weeks and have totaled 25 overs. And the balls are still in poor condition, so I expect them to last for a long time.
Usage in the past. I have a down parka that is completely white. To dry it, the manufacturer recommends using tennis balls in a dryer to keep the puffiness. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find white tennis balls? These were fantastic, especially since they were heavier than tennis balls. They do have black writing on them, and I didn't want it to bleed onto my coat, so I put each one in a white sock to keep the writing from bleeding. Certainly not a traditional application, but they worked perfectly for me!.
I bought these because they come in a white color, and I wanted something that wouldn't bleed colors onto my white pillows when I dried them (I use these balls to "fluff" pillows in the dryer after they've been washed). I suppose I'd recommend washing the balls separately at first, until the manufacturing smell has gone away. But, aside from that, they were all flawless, and the quality appears to be very high. I understand that the odor could be due to rubber or synthetic compounds used in the manufacturing process, but I just wanted to point out that one opened package of a ball will stink up a moderately sized room. It's also possible that opening the packages and exposing them to direct sunlight will help to eliminate the odor. I'm also aware that I'm not using them for their intended purpose, and that smell isn't an issue when they're being used for sports.
If there is at least some level of protective gear, these balls are good. On a baseball pitch, we play cricket, and this ball is far too bouncy (comes up to the head from a good distance). On concrete, it's a lot better, but it's still quite heavy and can seriously injure someone if they're hit in the head or fingers without protection. br>br>However, if helmets are worn (or only slow/spin bowling is done), the ball is a lot of fun to play with on concrete. For a bowler, the feel of the bat is ideal, and it is simple to grip. It's also possible to get the ball to turn in a good way. The toughness of this product is exceptional. To summarize, do not purchase this if you intend to play fast bowling without protection. For that, I'd go with a weight of less than 100 grams. Vicky's lighter balls are excellent, but they are nearly impossible to come by in the United States. It's a great ball to use if you're playing on concrete with padding.
This ball appears to be made of solid rubber, or at the very least is extremely dense. Perfect for relieving Plantar Fasciitis by self-applying pressure to the bottoms of my feet. Although it was not designed for this purpose, I find it to be more effective than a standard tennis ball. In conjunction with a nubbed foot roller, I use these. br>br>It's a great item to throw in the backpack to work out the aches after a long hike, and it takes up almost no room.
These are cricket-specific heavy-weighted tennis balls. We were playing on a wet baseball field, which became dark and difficult to see after a while, as well as making the ball heavier than usual. However, this is true of all weighted tennis balls.
For cricket, this is fantastic. We've been using these balls for the past 5 years and have had no problems; they're also cheaper on Amazon than other cricket websites, and you can get them delivered in two days. This type of ball is more durable.
