Therefore, I like the mask as it fulfilled the purpose it was intended for. If you are hit with a hockey puck, padded clothing won't protect you. The mask will not prevent you from getting your nose broken if you are hit in the face with anything more powerful than a fist. You can still breathe while wearing it. If your hair is long, you should not wear it. It can be quite itchy to wear the mask if you have facial hair. Masks in general provide some visibility, but your vision is cut in about half, if not more, if you're used to wearing one. A child size head will not fit in this hat. While wearing it, you want to make sure it is snug. Keep the top strap at the center of the mask in tact. If you mess with it, it's difficult to reattach do not dismantle it. As far as the mask itself is concerned, it is durable and rigid but not so rigid that it breaks. There is a thin layer of foam covering the padding almost like Because they are plastic, be aware that they will not last forever. It's not a bad thing, just note that they can be damaged. I used it for ball hockey and it worked like a charm! With the ball I was hit in the mask a couple of times. Although you know you have been hit, it does not hurt much You get excellent visibility, and you can move freely. It's surprisingly comfortable, and gives you much better visibility than bird cage masks. In summary, I would not recommend this mask for any sport using a plastic puck, such as ice hockey or roller hockey. When the foam on the inside of my mask started falling off after 4 weeks of use, I used a little super glue to fix the problem. It affords little protection for the neck area, so use caution when wearing it. A piece of metal struck me in the neck where my normal goalie helmet would normally cover. This mask is definitely cool to look at, so any negative aspects are nearly outweighed by its coolness. I haven't gone a game without someone saying something about.
They keep making things cheaper and cheaper, which is the most common thing you notice. Having had this mask years ago, I can tell you it still stands up well and does not produce any squeaks. I love the feel of this mask. It fits well, it feels nice and it looks good. It feels well constructed and the padding inside is excellent. The mask is quite thick and has a lot of padding on the inside. It will fit adults and people with large heads, but I think it's important to clarify that the mask can be adjusted. I find the visibility to be on the iffy side, but it is bearable. A really good mask all in all.
