I also appreciate the fact that it can be recharged using the USB charging cables that come with it. When the breast collar lights are turned on, my 28-year-old TWH mare becomes giddy and struts around like a queen. I took her back to the paddock the first time I put them on - She usually looks forward to getting into the house and eating dinner. But, with the collar lights turned on, she decided she wasn't ready for dinner and instead wanted to go on parade, so she made a few more rounds and was overjoyed. She intends to travel down the road in the coming days to brag to her neighbors. I believe she is enamored with the illuminated collar - Because she parks at the gate when the lights are turned off and only wants her dinner. They're also one of my favorites - It gets dark early, and the light casts a pleasant glow, allowing people to see us in the dark from 100 feet away. 150 feet away (and probably further, but we haven't tested the range) is a great distance for safety. I bought a second set for trail rides because these are so good.

I own both the white and pink versions. The white one is particularly cool because it serves as a flashlight for both myself and the horse. Another amazing feature is that the horses are 100% comfortable with it, even my mustang who frightens at every thing. I bought it in August of this year and use it whenever I can. I haven't had to charge it yet. It has everything it requires, nothing more and nothing less. It appears to be waterproof, as I have ridden in the rain with no problems; don't be put off by the price, as a standard breast plate can cost hundreds of dollars; Having said that, despite the fact that this is a breast plate, I would suggest using it as a decorative item. Use this on top of a breast plate if you normally ride with one; do not use it in place of one. That's not to say the product couldn't be used in that way; it just shouldn't, in my opinion. So far, there have been no complaints or issues with this product, and I can now check my mail in the dark! (I ride my horse to the mailbox, and this LED Breastplate is a LIFE SAVER; now drivers can see me and will slow down. ) I give this 10 A stars. For the safety of their horse and themselves, every rider should own one. I don't have any fear when I ride!.

A police horse outfitter gave it to me 12 years ago. It wasn't the same kind of LED light as this one, despite the fact that I believe it was called LED; instead, it was a flat blue luminescent strip that glowed. It gave the impression that your horse was auditioning for a role in the next TRON film. Anyway, it was cutting-edge technology at the time, and I adored the concept, but I rarely used it because it required a 9-volt battery mounted in a bulky velcro pouch. Despite the fact that it was a low-voltage/low-drain device, 9-volt batteries don't store well in a Florida barn, and it was almost always dead or the battery had exploded whenever I reached for it. As a result, it was only used once in a while. br>br>I'm so glad I found this version of the same idea, because it's a huge step forward! I've only used it once, but my first impression is that it's everything it claims to be in terms of the level of safety it provides and the ease with which it can be powered and operated. br>br>The advantages are obvious, and I agree with other reviewers in praising the product; however, I have a few suggestions for future versions of this product:br>br>1) The charging ports should have rubber plugs to close them off. This breastcollar, I'm guessing, isn't machine washable, and hand washing it would be dangerous. Even if it were caught in a real rainstorm, I'm not sure it would survive. br>br>2) This breastplate's three points of attachment are all closed loops that can be adjusted in length by moving a plastic slide; while this method is inexpensive and simple to make, it restricts attachment options. If your girth has a center ring, for example, you won't be able to use it (unless you want to add a bulky double-ring girth). ended snap to the breastplate loop, which could make the length too long and jingle jangle while riding). On my property, I don't require the breastplate for schooling. If I want to go trail riding after school, I'll have to completely undo my girth and reattach it before leaving, rather than just snapping it on. br>br>The top loops, on the other hand, have the problem of not having snaps, whereas the girth attachment does. Because I'm using this breastplate with a dressage saddle, I find the snaps provided to be too bulky to fit comfortably under the jockey flaps on my saddle, where my dees are, and they'd definitely dent the saddle if I continued to use it that way. Snaps cannot be removed (unless they are broken off with a bolt cutter) or added due to the closed loop slide buckle design. Not without chopping the nylon straps and restitching them together. I'm fortunate in that I make a living repairing horse tack, so this is a no-brainer for me. I'm going to convert the dee straps to Conway buckles because that's the best option for modifying the existing design I'm working with. However, I recommend to the manufacturer that this breastplate be made with a standard prong buckle and punched, grommeted holes in the future to make it easier to add, remove, change, and replace broken snaps. br>br>3) The ring in the center of the chest is small and delicate looking. It should be A) larger and more substantial, and B) a triangle rather than a ring. The issue with using a small ring with a 1" wide nylon strap is that the nylon won't lay flat against the metal. The nylon is stressed by being bunched up in the circle's curve, and the thin metal ring WILL eventually knife-edge its way through the nylon, as I've seen a thousand times. Isn't it true that I make a living repairing horse tack? br>br>Notes to my fellow riders thinking about buying this bike: 1) Purchase it! br>br> You'll be pleased with the result. Take it from someone who has an entire footlocker devoted to her horse's reflective gear. I've tried them all, and this is my new favorite. br>br>2) The purple color I bought is actually pink in the daylight, and the nylon is pink. There's nothing to be concerned about. However, it was bought for a boy horsey to go with a purple browband, so the pink was unexpected. However, it does turn purple after dark, so I'm going to have to fight my OCD on this one. 3) It appears that a couple of buyers have stated in their reviews that the horse is unable to see the light. I am not convinced. It was obvious that my horse was aware of it. We have a lot of wild rabbits in the neighborhood, and on my first lap around the block with this breastplate on at dusk, my horse was giving each of them a half-hearted chase. spook. He would never do such a thing because he is completely accustomed to them. The light had a significant impact on his field of vision, and I would advise everyone to familiarize their horse with the illuminated breastplate in a safe and controlled environment before venturing into the unknown. And the light is much brighter than I had anticipated. We purchased this light for our daughter's horse because she enjoys riding after school during the winter months and we wanted to ensure that she and the horse were visible and safe. This light can be seen from hundreds of yards away, alerting any passing vehicles to the presence of the horse and rider. It's simple to put on, extremely bright, and a must-have for anyone riding after dusk or at night. The price is very reasonable for what you get; it charges via USB and has so far maintained a bright charge after several hours of use. We live in an area where riding horses on the streets to get to public arenas is common, and she's already been asked where she got these lights by a number of riders. Great product; on a side note, if you could make one that attaches to the back of the saddle, we'd buy it.
