Sadly, the padded panel no longer gets quilted, so the padding tears inside the shorts after they slide around. A lesson We had a seamstress friend reconstruct them to save the trouble of returning them, but that is not a reasonable option for many.
The Youth Large is the perfect size for my 5'7", 120 pound, 13 year old son. It is hard to find clothing for him due to his skinny frame, but these are very comfortable and have a good amount of padding on both It is comfortable to wear and does not pinch the waist. It remains to be seen if he'll have any problems wearing a cup with them, but I presume a cup with some exterior grip and the shorts' elasticity means the cup should fit perfectly.
The boy who loves baseball will love wearing these sliding shorts. I have an 8-year-old who is very tall and slim (60lbs). It fits him well in a medium. Grey and white, so he can wear white baseball pants underneath, and the gray won't show through. Our first purchase was a different brand due to lower price but they did not fit him well, so we came back to the mizuno and are sticking with them since they fit.
He has a problem playing catcher with his cup, it will rise up when he is playing. Those sliders have a decent fit, but he may have had difficulty getting into an adult small, which would have resulted in the cup not fitting.
A good slide with just the right amount of padding for sliding. They have been worn by my son throughout his years in little league. I've probably bought five of them so far, and I plan to continue purchasing them as long as he keeps shifting.
It fits my 10 year old in Youth XL. It is the Camo ones that he prefers.
It's nice to have pants like these for my son. I'm not sure if they run small or if my son runs large but I had to size up a size to make them fit.
I use them for my 7-year-old and I'm very happy with them.
